Big thank you to Midcity Camp to Amp and thank you to the SEVEDA board members who showed up and made it happen.
On yesterday, Saturday, May 16th, SEVEDA had the honor of being a vendor at the Camp to Amp free annual community festival in Huntsville, AL again this year and it was truly amazing.
There was singing, dancing, vendors, food trucks, fun and games for the children and families.
We had an encouragement table setup to encourage those who are going through domestic abuse , those who have overcome domestic abuse, and those may know someone who is going through domestic abuse to leave an encouraging message.
Many people stopped by the table and to look and share their stories. Some were needing a hug (I’m a hugger) and some were there to pour into others because they were once in a domestic abuse situation and now they’re an Overcomer!
Take a look at the love that was shared through words and shown through the pieces of paper shaped like hearts and some were even written by children.
Domestic violence is a real issue that has to be addressed. Just because you don’t talk about it doesn’t make it go away. Domestic abuse doesn’t only affect women but it affects men too.
Domestic abuse doesn’t only affect the victims but it affects the abusers(perpetrator), those who are connected to the victims, and those who are connected to the perpetrator.
No one should ever have to go through domestic abuse, No One but if you do, please know that you are not alone. Help is available.
