Honored to present our annual update to the DeBary City Council tonight. Foundation Chairman Jim Old briefed our organizational evolution, formal partnerships, and the positive impact the Foundation is making for our residents and visitors.

And we rolled deep tonight. Board members, advisors, volunteers and partner organizations joined us at City Hall, representing the team that has helped move the Foundation forward.

What started as an idea a year ago has evolved into an independent nonprofit with strong community partnerships, active programs, and a growing team of people willing to lend their time, talent, and experience to make a difference in DeBary.

We appreciate the City Council giving us the opportunity to share our progress and, more importantly, where we're headed next.

We are excited to welcome Prebble Bonett as Chair and Barbara Hurley-Newmark as Vice Chair of the DeBary Foundation's Love Missions Partnership Committee.

Building on the success of the LOVE MISSIONS human trafficking awareness training they organized this past April, Prebble and Barbara have joined the Foundation to help expand these important educational programs throughout DeBary. Future training will continue to be provided by Love Missions Founder Ms. Tina Kadolph and the Love Missions team for parents, teachers, first responders, churches, and community organizations.

A fantastic addition has arrived at the Veterans' Plaza 🇺🇸 This composite tile mosaic celebrates service, community, and remembrance. Created one tile at a time by residents, it reflects the spirit of a community coming together to honor those who have served.

Thank you to the City of DeBary for adding this feature to the Veterans' Plaza, to The DeBary Foundation Volunteer Artist and Gateway Center for the Arts Executive Director Terri Hoag, and to Gateway Center for the Arts for graciously hosting the community tile-painting event that made this project possible.

The mosaic is another reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of DeBary-Deltona-Orange City for their generous support of the DeBary Foundation. Last Wednesday evening, they presented us with a donation that will help us continue investing in projects and partnerships that enhance our community. We are honored to work alongside organizations that share our vision of making DeBary an even better place to call home. A program that encourages kids to get out and play is expanding in Volusia County. Grow Health Kids gives out free toys to classrooms and new shoes to kids in need.
