To the Troop 306 Family,

As we step into this brand-new year, I want to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of you who makes our troop the strong and spirited community that it is. The past year was filled with adventure, learning, and service—moments that truly reflected the many of the points of the Scout Law. From community service projects to creating campfire stories, skill-building activities and adapting to challenges, you have all shown what it means to “Be Prepared” in every sense of the word.

To our dedicated volunteers—the leaders, committee members, parents, and mentors—I wish to express a sincere thank you. Your time, energy, and passion are the backbone of the program. You’ve guided our Scouts through challenges, helped them grow in confidence and character, and created a safe and supportive environment where they can learn, lead, and thrive. The countless hours you’ve spent planning summer camp and high adventure weeks, organizing fundraising, and teaching lessons will have a lifelong impact on these young men.

Scouts, you continue to inspire us with your enthusiasm, curiosity, and leadership. Watching you take on new adventures, earn new ranks, and push yourselves to achieve personal and team goals has been incredible. You remind us that Scouting isn’t just about outdoor skills—it’s about developing courage, friendship, and a spirit of service that extends into every part of life.

As we look ahead to this new year, there’s so much to look forward to. New camping adventures, community service projects, and leadership opportunities await. Let’s commit to growing together—welcoming new members, strengthening our bonds, and striving to make a difference not just in our troop, but in our community as well.

There are two things that are guaranteed for us for the new year…Time doesn’t stop, and Change always happens. I look forward to working with you all to step up to these challenges and let’s show the world all the great things this Troop can accomplish!

On Sunday, the Troop was representing in city of Debary annual Christmas parade

Today Troop 306 took a break from our campout to honor those veterans no longer with us during this holiday season.

The Troop has the privilege of presenting the Colors and Wreaths along with the Knights of Columbus.

The small token of gratitude is a pale comparison to the sacrifices these men and women have made for our freedom over the years.

As we continued a fantastic weekend of fellowship and service, the troop participated in the 7th legends of central Florida road race.

Since its inception the troop has volunteered. The first two years running a water stop and the past five handing out finisher medals.

This year we had 22 Scouts, parents and siblings run the 5K. In addition to those, we also had more crew and ultimately handed out over 750 5K, half & full marathon medals. A record number for this event.

And finally as a bonus surprise we had 5 of our runners take home age group awards!

This afternoon the Troop celebrated our first Scoutsgiving. We had Scouts, parents, siblings and Troop alumni attend.

Turkeys were deep fried, the scout’s made rolls, stuffing, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, corn casserole and several families also brought side dishes and desserts.

This morning our Scouts assisted Community Church of Debary with their Thanksgiving Turkey distribution. They loaded up over 85 turkeys, pie, potatoe bags and grocery bags. They also were able to assist the church with cleaning out a closet inoreparation for AC work being done in the church

This morning three amazing groups came together.

First, the amazing citizens of Debary for their overwhelming generosity providing food and supplies.

Second, the Scouts of Troop 306 & Cub Scout Pack 241, along with their adult leaders, spent the morning collecting and counting the donations from Debary's citizens.

Finally, the dedicated members of the Community Church of Debary for sorting and organizing all the donations.

This effort will provide many of our local neighbors in need with food to keep them going for the near future. As part of the Scouting For Food effort in Volusia and Flagler counties, over 41,000 pounds of food were collected. Our community alone accounted for more than 4,500 pounds.

So to all the Donors and Volunteers who put in tons of work today, I want to extend my own heartfelt thanks for all of your efforts.
