You will be missed! Thank you for welcoming us always and make sure we were fed before we left. Always big hugs for us ladies and telling us so many amazing stories
My heart is absolutely broken.
On Sunday, we lost Mr. Tim Phelps, and our entire Market family is devastated.
Mr. Tim wasn’t just an employee—he was family. He had one of the kindest hearts I’ve ever known and made a lasting impact on every customer who walked through our doors. His smile, sense of humor, and genuine love for people made everyone feel welcome.
Mr. Tim worked with us from day one and had one of the strongest work ethics I’ve ever seen. Long before I owned The Market, I was just a kid riding my bike up to the John Hall Store to get a BBQ sandwich from him. He always had a joke ready, always made me laugh, and always made me smile.
When I think of Mr. Tim, I’ll always picture him sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, smiling and waving as cars passed by.
He was my main man. One of my best friends.
His famous BLTs and hamburgers will always be remembered, but what I’ll remember most is the care he put into everything he did. Mr. Tim didn’t know how to do anything halfway—he gave everything he had, every single day.
I am beside myself today, but I find comfort knowing he’s in Heaven looking down on us. He inspired me in so many ways, and his legacy will live on through the people he touched and the example he set.
Please keep his family, friends, and our entire work family in your prayers. We loved him dearly, and this kitchen will never be the same without him.
We will continue to honor Mr. Tim by carrying on the values he lived every day: great food, hard work, and taking care of people.
God bless you, Mr. Tim. I love you, and I can’t wait to see you again.
Rest easy, my friend. ❤️
