“I left school so my siblings could continue their education.”
After losing both of his parents in a car accident at just nine years old, Ali suddenly became responsible for supporting his entire family - including his younger brother and twin sisters. He put aside his own dreams and worked wherever he could to provide for them.
Through Al-Ayn’s comprehensive care program, Ali and his family received monthly financial support, clothing, and ongoing assistance that helped ease the burden they were carrying alone.
Later, Ali joined one of Al-Ayn’s vocational training workshops, where he chose to train in barbering. Over 35 days, he learned practical skills, received transport and meal support, and was able to begin working shortly after completing the program.
Today, 16-year-old Ali dreams of opening his own barbershop.
“The first thing I will do when my business succeeds,” he says, “is sponsor an orphaned child.”
Your support can help orphaned children and vulnerable young people access opportunities that can shape their future. Give Sadaqa or sponsor a child at al-ayn.org.
