Our Story
==================== About Cub Scouts ==================== Cub Scouts is the junior branch of Boy Scouts of America. It is a year-round family- and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for children in the kindergarten through fifth grade (or who are around 5-10 years old). The scouting program is a fun and exciting program that is run by people who care about enriching the lives of kids. Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. ==================== Organization ==================== Each Cub Scout Pack has a charter organization that shares oversight with district and regional governance as defined by the parent organization, which is Boy Scouts of America. The charter organization for Pack 1112 is: Dearborn First United Methodist Church 22124 Garrison St. Dearborn, MI. This is also the charter organization for Boy Scout Troop 1104 and both belong to the Mahican District of the Great Lakes Region Council. ==================== Membership ==================== BSA Membership - Cub Scouts is open to children in kindergarten and 1st - 5th grades, youth leaders, and committee members. Sibling Participation - We also support and encourage inclusion of both boy and girl siblings in all meetings and scouting activities through our "cub cadet" program. This program is not officially part of the Cub Scout program but has been sanctioned by BSA representatives and more importantly, helps parents who might otherwise need sibling child care options in order for enrolled children to participate in scouting. The sibling program provides some extra advancement opportunities for scouts who have graduated to the Boy Scouts, and helps introduce the more important aspects of scouting to children that are net yet of scouting age. ==================== Meetings and Activities ==================== Meetings are held every Tuesday at 6:30 PM when school is in session. Meeting are held at: Dearborn First United Methodist Church 22124 Garrison St Dearborn, MI The pack has at least 1 non-meeting activity every month. A camping activity happens seasonally, about every 3 months. ==================== Facebook Policy ==================== This page is administered by the leadership of Cub Scout Pack 1112 in accordance with the guidelines put forth by social media team of the national council of Boy Scouts of America.
