Clear vision can make a big difference in the classroom.

With Detroit students heading back to school Monday, Ford Philanthropy teamed up with Vision To Learn and the Detroit Lions at Ford Field to kick off the back-to-school season — with a little football mixed in.

Families stepped inside Vision To Learn’s all-electric mobile eye clinic and took on the “Blur Challenge,” experiencing firsthand how vision challenges can affect something as simple as throwing a football through a target.

Starting this school year, Vision To Learn is expanding its work in Southeast Michigan, providing free eye exams to every student in the Dearborn City District who needs one, along with glasses when prescribed.

Since Ford Philanthropy began supporting Vision To Learn two years ago, the organization has provided more than 24,700 eye exams and 22,600 pairs of glasses to students at no cost to their families.

Woodward Dream Cruise weekend is all about cars — and for a group of Ford Auto Tech Scholars, it was also a chance to talk about where a career in the automotive industry can take you.

We hosted the scholars at COMO’s in Ferndale for a conversation with Arie Groeneveld, Chief Program Engineer – Ford Racing, about his career and the work behind some of Ford’s performance vehicles.

A pretty fitting classroom for Dream Cruise weekend! 🏁

No one should have to miss something important because they don’t have a ride.

In June, Catch a Ride Network delivered 852 rides in Wayne County, Michigan, helping people get to work, school, doctor appointments, and more.

We’re proud to support partners like Catch a Ride Network that help remove transportation barriers in the communities they serve.

Need a ride, or interested in becoming a volunteer driver? Learn more about Catch a Ride through the link in our bio.

What could Team Rubicon volunteers do with two extra hours each day?

That’s the question Ford Philanthropy, Team Rubicon and GRIDRACK™ set out to answer.

The result is a custom Ford Transit designed around the way Team Rubicon’s Greyshirts actually work. By helping keep equipment organized, secure, and ready to deploy, the new van is expected to save disaster response volunteers up to two hours each day in the field.

When every minute counts, those extra hours mean more time helping communities recover.

Less than 48 hours after the build was complete, the van was on the road from Dearborn to Texas Hill Country, where it's supporting flood recovery efforts today.

Belgium’s Innoptus Solar Team is currently competing in the American Solar Challenge, a collegiate solar-powered 1,550-mile endurance race from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Amarillo, Texas.

Over the past year, with support from Ford Philanthropy, the team has designed, built and tested its solar-powered vehicle while also inspiring the next generation of innovators through STEM workshops that reached more than 600 participants.

We’re proud to support students using engineering and innovation to help shape the future of mobility. Best of luck to the Innoptus Solar Team as they make their way to the finish line in Amarillo! We're all cheering you on from Ford Philanthropy, Ford Belgium and Ford Deutschland. ☀️

As extreme weather continues to affect communities more than ever, we know that being prepared can make all the difference. We’re proud to partner with Sesame Street on their new initiative to help families prepare for and recover from extreme weather events like hurricanes, floods, and wildfires.

Alongside our Ford Building Together partners American Red Cross and Team Rubicon, we’re working to get resources like go-bags into the hands of our neighbors exactly when they need them most, all with a little help from some familiar, furry faces.

Catch the new special premiering August 3rd on Netflix US and PBS KIDS, bringing this important topic to life the way only Sesame Street can.💛

It’s National Intern Day, so let’s celebrate our Ford Motor Company summer interns! 💙

Rescuing good food before it goes to waste takes a lot of hands. Earlier this month, our interns pitched in at Forgotten Harvest, sorting and packing meals headed to families across Metro Detroit.

Serving our neighbors has always been part of Ford’s DNA. Through the Ford Volunteer Corps, employees and interns alike get paid time off to show up for their communities, and this crew brought the energy from start to finish.

Thank you to the Forgotten Harvest team for welcoming us!
