Art and Agency Art & Agency from the Inside Out is a series of FREE and PUBLIC creative workshops Facilitated dialogue will explore ideas and emotions that emerge.

Hello all! “Art and Agency from the Inside Out” is a series of FREE creative workshops, open to the PUBLIC, exploring themes such as connection, hope, healing and joy, considered in relation to experiences of incarceration and other forms of exclusion. The program will take place throughout the academic year and will have a different thematic and artistic focus each month, led by experienced pract

itioners of creative writing, painting, dance and other visual and performing arts. There will be two sessions per month, taking place at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays in the month. Dates are subject to change depending on the academic schedule and flyers will be posted with any updates. Refreshments will be served.

CREATIVE SPIRIT: ART AND AGENCY Saturday, March 29th, 1-4 p.m.

Join Detroit Artists Market, the UM Detroit Center, and UM Arts Initiative for an interactive workshop where everyone is both an artist and a teacher. Through hands-on creation and shared dialogue, this facilitated session featuring acclaimed Detroit artists Dorothy Jett-Carter and Talese Michelle explores the power of creativity as a tool for self-expression, collaboration, and personal agency. No experience necessary—just bring your creativity, curiosity, and an open mind!
