DPW, City Hall, etc. signed a new contract last month -- no raise, just a signing bonus and 2 more days off a year. More than half employees have a month vacation time plus personal days and sick days to use in the the year. This doesn't count the 52 Fridays the employees are already off.

They didn't need 2 more days off, of which they need to put in for 2 months in advance to use. What these hardworking individuals needed was the 10% pay reduction they took over 9 years ago. The employees have lost more income over the years -- at least attempt to correct the wrong Mr. Mayor.

DH Citizens continue to complain about the lack of services with parts of city -- No one is applying to work with the lowest pay of any nearby city!

Now is the perfect time of year to be working on the flooding issues, not when the flooding is occurring!

This is a recent message sent to us from a concerned citizen:

i live at ###X Hubbell street in front of English Gardens i"ve been dealing with the stret flooding for six years. i have been to the city; i have called everyone to no avail. the biggest problem is i cant leave the house or anyone come into my house when it raains. i lost three cars to the same flooding and the worst of the worst when it starts to drain my basement floods. i have lost so much and when i call or go to the city they wont even listen to me

Has anyone heard anything updates from the Mayor?

The union employees have been dutifully going to work without signed contracts for 2 years now -- this includes DPW, Police, Fire and City Hall Clerical staff.

The Mayor of Dearborn Heights offered them a 1/2% raise while he made sure to give non-union employees an average of a 26% raise in 2021!

The majority of these employees voted to give up 10% of their pay to keep the city afloat several years back -- if the mayor can find over $392,000 for raises why wouldn't he work with the union and use even half of that for the union employees??

We have attempted to draw positive messages about our small yet lovely city; we cannot find many things to post over the past several months.

There is currently not enough positivity coming from our elected government.

The demoting and firing of long-time, dedicated employees to hiring and promoting undeserving because they are relatives & friends has got to stop.

The union employees have gone without a new contract for nearly 2 years -- the mayor made sure to give all himself & cronies anywhere from 3-36% raises, but wants to give the union employees 10 cents an hour (see the pictures)

Mr. Bazzi was a Marine so naturally one would think he would believe in recognizing & promoting those with dedication to the cause, in this case the City of Dearborn Heights. Many city employees have over 15 years in with a great number having 20+ years. Under the previous Mayor, God rest Mr Paletko's soul, there were service awards given to all employees but under the current Mayor he won't even give them a paper certificate, even though he's been recorded as saying how important employees are & he's qorking on a recognition system during city council meeting in the winter of 2021.

Our current Council Members are not asking enough questions to Mayor Bazzi as to why he is creating such turmoil. Most seem to be sitting back and watching it happen, as if they are afraid of Mayor Bazzi in some way and don't want to cause any waves.

Tonight the stance begins a call to all media outlets so they can see the truth in Dearborn Heights
