The Daytona Division is gearing up to start drills this month. Parents and cadets, please check your email for any communications from the division. We have a lot of exciting updates and changes to the program to improve communication as well as the parent and cadet experience.

As a reminder, the DeLand Excellence Squadron has merged with the Daytona Division to help strengthen and widen the cadets' opportunities and experiences.

The Sea Cadet program is the Navy's youth development program for potential cadets aged 10 years (in 5th grade) through 18 years old. There is no obligation to join the military. League and Sea Cadets wear uniforms. They learn about maritime services, a variety of career fields, and effective leadership and communication skills. Cadets also have many opportunities to earn volunteer hours.

For more information about the program, please check out the Sea Cadet Program website: https://www.seacadets.org/

You can also reach out to the Daytona Division or through this page. Potential cadets under the age of 18, please have a parent or guardian initiate contact. Thank you.

The US Naval Sea Cadet Corps (Sea Cadets) is the Navy’s youth development program. Core values: honor, respect, commitment, and service.

The DeLand Excellence Squadron has merged with the Daytona Division. What does this mean for the DeLand Squadron? The Sea Cadet program is still going strong, and our cadets have had amazing opportunities and experiences with the Daytona Division.

What have the cadets been up to?

March 2025
* The annual unit inspection
* Ziplining and overnight camping

April 2025:
* PRT
* Swim Qualifications
* Coursework
* Midshipman actives

The Sea Cadet Program is starting to wind down for the summer, but we still have two upcoming May drills left, and during the summer months, the cadets will have additional training opportunities.

The Daytona Division is actively recruiting new cadets (5th grade through 12th grade) and adult volunteers.

If you are interested, we welcome you to check out the Sea Cadet webpage and fill out an interest form.

February 2025 update

During the month of February, our cadets co-drilled with the Daytona Division. During the drill, the cadets completed a PRT assessment, training with the ERAU NROTC Midshipmen, and spent time on the COVE Ship Simulator.

The cadets also went on a trip to the National Navy Seal Museum in Fort Pierce, FL.

"The National Navy SEAL Museum is the only museum dedicated solely to preserving the history of the United States Navy SEALs and their predecessors. Located in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Navy combat divers, the Frogmen."

Be A Naval Sea Cadet

Are you ready to be a Naval Sea Cadet? Since our founding in 1962, many thousands of young adults have taken this path and believe that it was one of the most important steps they took early in life. If you see the military as a career, you should know that the USNSCC was the starting point for many high ranking military officials. Former Sea Cadets include an astronaut, admirals and generals as well as a former Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard. Even if the military is not your chosen future path, your experience as a Naval Sea Cadet will provide you with a mature perspective of the world that will serve you well as you move on to college, the business community or whatever your career choice. There is no commitment to serve in the military by becoming a Naval Sea Cadet.
