🍀 The fair may only last a few days, but the skills last a lifetime.

For many young people, the county fair is the highlight of the 4-H year. It's a chance to showcase months of hard work, learn from successes and challenges, meet new friends, and celebrate accomplishments.

But 4-H isn't just about earning ribbons. Through fair projects, youth learn responsibility, goal setting, problem solving, communication, record keeping, and perseverance. They gain confidence by sharing what they've learned and pride in seeing their hard work pay off.

This National 4-H Week, we're celebrating the experiences that make the fair special and the life skills that last long after the fairgrounds are empty.

Behind every 4-H member is a community of people who care.

4-H volunteers give their time, knowledge, encouragement, and support to help young people learn and grow. They don't have to know everything. They don't have to be experts. They simply need to be willing to share their time and help young people discover what they're capable of doing.

During National 4-H Week, we're celebrating the volunteers who make learning by doing possible!

The 4-H meat judging program allows youth to learn about the different cuts of meat along with the trimness and quality factors that affect the safety and taste of the meat products we consume.
