Our Hotel Dell exhibit got an upgrade this week with a new small-scale model of the building! 🏨 Volunteer Ashton Heilig constructed the replica from plastic building blocks using photographs as his guide. The historic Hotel Dell was built in 1855 on the corner of 6th Ave. and 7th St. It was originally known as the Nolton House. Over the years, the hotel changed names several times — becoming the Gates House, then the Holden House, and finally the Dell Hotel in 1903. For nearly 120 years, the building was a cornerstone of early DeWitt life, until its demolition in 1976.
