Dear Creative Arts Exhibitor:
The 2024 Clinton County Fair is fast approaching. Creative Arts will again be located in the South Room of the 4-H Auditorium. We have made a few changes for this year that I hope will make it easier for everyone. Please note that the biggest change you need to be aware of is that exhibit entry will be on Monday July 15th beginning at 3:00. Please bring your exhibit to the South room of the auditorium on the fairgrounds. We will be there to collect your exhibits until 6:00 pm. We are again asking you to fill out the entry sheet. This has worked very well the past two years.
Entries will be released on Sunday, July 21st from 2:30-3:30 pm. Please remember to check your exhibits out when you pick them up, or let the person that is picking up for you know. We do our best to maintain security with the exhibits and to keep them safe. When you just pick up your exhibit without checking it out at the table we get worried that someone took your project and we would hate for that to happen. Also, when you check the exhibit out with us, you are able to pick up your comment sheets from the judge.
This year we are excited to offer you 2 new classes to exhibit in, both of these classes are in the Home Accents and Crafts division.
Class 104 is a themed table setting and class 105 is for Diamond Art. If you are bringing in a themed table setting, please plan on bringing in the decorations and a place setting for 1. You may include a picture of the table set and decorated for 4 people if you so desire. We just do not have the space to set up a full table setting. We will have you set up your table setting so that it is the way you have planned it to be.
Another thing to note is that we will be taking pictures of all food items. We don’t have a way to keep the food fresh for the entire week. We usually donate the baked goods to Maggie’s House or somewhere else. We will display a picture of your food item along with the ribbon and entry tag.
2024 Entry and Fair Schedule is as follows:
Entry of items will be Monday, July 15th, 3pm-6pm
Judging and set up (closed to public viewing) Tuesday, July 16th, 8 am-3 pm
Finish setting up (still closed to public viewing) Wednesday, July 17th 8:00- until finished
Open to the public Wednesday, July 18th, 3 pm -8pm
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 19-20th the building will be open to the public between 9 am – 8pm
Sunday, July 21st the building is open to the public 9 am-2:00 pm
Pick-up of projects will begin at 2:30 pm. Please be respectful of people coming that Sunday morning to the fair. This may be the only time they are able to make it and they enjoy looking at the exhibits. When you sneak your exhibit out early you ruin the chance for the fairgoers on Sunday to enjoy seeing your creativity and to be inspired. Please remember to check your exhibit out at the checkout table.
The Creative Arts Committee will not be responsible for any items left after 4:00 pm.
As many of you already know, we are posting Creative Arts information online. For the fair classes and rules please see the Clinton County Fair Creative Arts, Classes and division numbers have been updated so please check this before filling out any forms or tags.
Please also consider liking us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Creative-Arts-206370606062657/ or search for Creative Arts. Updates and reminders are posted on the Facebook -page as well as pictures of the entries including Best of Show.
We are currently looking for volunteers in three different categories. If you are interested in helping with any of the three categories, please send an email to [email protected].
1. We are in need of about 4-5 comment writers for the different judges. We would need you on Tuesday July 16th from 8:00 am until no later than noon, but probably you would be done much earlier.
2. People to host the auditorium. For those of you familiar with 4-H, this is similar to that. We need someone to sit in the south room and watch over the exhibits, possibly answer questions and maybe even sell raffle tickets to this year’s quilt.
3. Finally, our committee is in search of new members. We usually meet a few times before the fair beginning in January for about 1 hour at a time. The week of the fair you would need to be available for most days to help with exhibit check-in, judging, and set-up, hosting for at least one time slot during the fair, and then exhibit check-out.
