It is with great sadness to announce that we will not be holding The Grasshopper BBQ Contest this year due to circumstances beyond our control. We will keep you posted if things change for future years.

We would like to congratulate '19 Grand Champion Man Meat BBQ and RGC Slap's BBQ. Our contest had FIVE teams with 700+ overall scores! HUGE and heartfelt thanks to The Kansas City BBQ Store for providing the purse prize, and sponsors Huhtamaki, Rehrig Pacific, Lumber One, Merck, Mike's Liquor and Ritter Cigar Company. Thanks to Mayor Rick Walker and Andy Jacober for volunteering all weekend, our KCBS reps and judges, and to Karen Rodgers for all of her hard work. Most of all, thank you to all of the 53 teams for participating. See you next year!

Ritter Cigar Company will be vending at The Grasshopper BBQ Friday evening in front of the Judge's Tent. Their friends from Altadis (makers of Montecristo, H Upmann, Romeo y Julieta and more) will be on site with specials. Please share with all of your cigar friends and BBQ team members!

We just visited the park and it is moist. If teams have generators, we can locate you onto gravel. You will be able to visit your site and decide if you want to be in your assigned location. If you relocate, you will still have your site number. Those teams located within the oval circle - your sites look great. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE FIRST ENTRANCE as the soccer clubs are having games. PLEASE USE THE 2ND RAMP ENTRANCE - THE BOAT RAMP ENTRANCE. Thank you!
