We are continuing to monitor the nationwide Canvas cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the vendor that provides our learning management system.

Canvas remains operational at this time. While there is no indication that passwords, Social Security numbers, financial information, or dates of birth were compromised, we understand this disruption comes during a critical time in the semester.

To ensure students are not academically disadvantaged:

• Faculty are providing flexibility on assignment deadlines as needed
• Make-up opportunities for exams and coursework will be available
• If necessary, alternative submission methods may be temporarily used
• Final exam contingency plans are in place should any additional disruption occur

If any exams or Canvas-related coursework are impacted, faculty will work with the eLearning Department to provide reasonable solutions that allow students to complete required work.

As a precaution, faculty are encouraged to download gradebooks and essential course materials. Students and employees should remain alert for phishing attempts and access Canvas only through LEO.

We remain committed to protecting our campus community and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

GRADUATION SCHEDULE

SCOOBA CAMPUS
A graduation ceremony for students on our Scooba campus will take place today, May 7, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sullivan-Windham Field. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. No tickets will be required for entry. The event will not be livestreamed.

GOLDEN TRIANGLE CAMPUS
There will be two graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 8, in the Lyceum Auditorium on our Golden Triangle campus, with commencement for students in academic programs beginning at 10 a.m., which will be followed by a 2 p.m. ceremony for career technical students. Due to limited space, tickets will be required to enter. Those who cannot attend the Golden Triangle campus graduations may watch them live online at www.emcclive.com Please be wary of fraudulent links. Our www.emcclive.com site will be the only place to view the livestream of our Golden Triangle campus graduation ceremonies, and EMCC will never ask for personal information.
