Beautiful Beginnings

We make baskets filled with positive resources to give to families that welcome babies with Down syndrome into the world.

We deliver baskets in hopes of bringing joy to families that welcome babies with Down syndrome into the world. We create baskets filled with positive and updated information, baby products, and community resources to give to families when they might feel like they don’t know where to turn. We are passionate about making sure new families know just how amazing their lives are going to be. We offer

support and guidance by welcoming them into our wonderful community! We are able to make our baskets thanks to donations from amazing people in our community and also through our local Down syndrome group: The Delaware County Down Syndrome Interest Group.

💙Welcome to the DSIG family, sweet baby Elah! 💛

One of the sweetest moments from our annual Summer Party was finally getting to deliver a Beautiful Beginnings basket to baby Elah and her family — surrounded by so many of the incredible families who make our DSIG community so special. 🥰

Elah’s family jumped right in and participated in every event and activity they could, and we have loved getting to know them and watch them become part of our DSIG family. So, we were especially excited that we could finally give them their Beautiful Beginnings basket! 💙💛

As always, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to Beautiful Beginnings and helped make these special moments possible. Your generosity allows us to reach new families, offer a little love and encouragement, and let them know that they have an entire community standing beside them. 🫶🏽

Today we had the joy of delivering a Beautiful Beginnings basket to a very special baby — sweet Rita. 💛

There were lots of connections wrapped up in today’s delivery, which made it feel even more special. But honestly… isn’t that just Delco? Around here, someone always knows someone who knows someone else down the street. And that’s exactly how this community works.

Those connections are actually how we often find out about babies born with Down syndrome in the first place. This beautiful web of neighbors, friends, families, and supporters is what makes Beautiful Beginnings possible.

Quite simply, we couldn’t do this without YOU.

Thank you for sharing connections, offering support, spreading the word, and donating to help us keep these baskets going. Days like today are only possible because of this incredible community.

And it really was a good one. 💕

Little Rita is almost four months old and is the very loved caboose — baby number six — in her family! She is already surrounded by so much love and support and is thriving in OT. We were so happy to meet her and her wonderful parents and siblings, and we can’t wait to watch her grow and do amazing things.

A MASSIVE thank you to Donna Watkins for the beautiful handmade blanket included in today’s basket! Donna has donated many blankets for our Beautiful Beginnings baskets, and they will be such a special gift for our families. We are so grateful for your generosity, Donna. 🧡
