Troop 512 has a great advancement record. We help all scouts achieve first class in the first 18 months in the troop. We also average 5 Eagle Scouts each year. Troop 512 can be described in any number of ways. We’re more than Boy Scouts, since many people are involved in the running of this operation who are not Scouts. We’re an organization, some might say a community but to many we're family. Th
ey’re the ones who are the most involved. Because of their involvement they feel close to the Scouts. They’re proud of every achievement. Many of our adult leaders remain with the Troop long after their sons have passed through. Why? Because of the satisfaction they gain through their contributions. Because of friendships. Because of the common purpose and values that we share. Like anything, the Troop is what you make it. That’s a lesson we emphasize with the Scouts all the time. It’s up to them to shape, guide and lead the Troop. The adult leaders are there to support, facilitate and direct youth when needed. What about you? What are you able to do to that will help our young men become the leaders of tomorrow? What talents do you have to share? How can you provide support? Are you concerned that you don’t have the time? There are many ways you can help and not all require a big commitment in time. Did you know that you can be a merit badge counselor? Did you know that a meeting program can be shaped around your skills and expertise? Did you know that you can help out as part of an event committee? If you would like to know how you can help the Troop, email Scoutmaster Nick Meloni at [email protected] After all, the Troop is what we – all of us – make it. Yours in Scouting, the Troop 512 family.
