Coming February 7th, 2026 in Ormond Beach Florida...The Dr. David Axelrod Granada Grand Festival of the Arts Grand Slam.

Registration is free. Send pic and 75 word bio to [email protected]. Once you receive confirmation, you will be registered.

Up to 12 poets will compete. The slam will consist of three rounds. Scores are cumulative for the last two rounds only; the second round will begin with a clean slate. Order in the first round will be by random draw. Order in the second and third round will be determined based on the cumulative scores of the poets, from high score to low score. After the first round, the highest 8 scoring poets progress to the second round. After the second round the top 4 scoring poets advance to the final round. Scores are cumulative for the last two rounds. The highest cumulative scoring poets wins. In case of a tie, the poets will do another scored round until the tie is broken.

First place: $750, a berth to the 2026 BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam in KCK, and a $250 stipend during the competition.

Second place: $400
Third place: $250
Fourth place: $100

First place may also accept a berth to the 2026 Slammadness Poetry Slam in Greenville, SC.
