Volusia Civic Ballet

Volusia Civic Ballet The VCB enhances and expands the area's cultural scene while supporting and rewarding our young people's talents and accomplishments.

We're a 501(C)(3) non-profit Ballet Company serving Volusia & Flagler Counties. All area dancers may audition! Our unique Company is made up of students and adults from area dance studios, who are classically trained ballet dancers and who have a love of the dance arts. Members are selected through an audition process each year. For almost 20 years, the Civic Ballet of Volusia County has put on a

spectacular rendition of The Nutcracker for Central Florida to enjoy. This April, join us at Mainland HS Performing Arts Center, where all area dancers were invited to participate in exciting Master Classes led by dance legend, Rasta Thomas, as well as our excellent local dance instructors. On April 3rd, we launched our first-ever Festival of Dance SHOWCASE, featuring performances by Rasta Thomas, choreography learned at our April Master Classes, dances by 10 area dance studios, as well as a special Outreach performance sponsored by the CBVC! Area studios awarded 6 full year dance scholarships to our Outreach students. It was a magical weekend, and we hope to bring it back next year!

Registration for the Volusia Civic Ballet’s the Nutcracker auditions is now open!

Auditions August 15th with call-backs on August 16th.

Nutcracker performances are at the Peabody on December 5-6, 2026.

All rehearsals are on Sundays.

Open to Central Florida female and male dancers ages 8 and up. A local community favorite, VCB’s “The Nutcracker” has been bringing this professional production to life for 30 years. Comprised of dancers and choreographers from multiple dance studios, “The Nutcracker” production delights the audiences and the dancers year after year.
