Now is the time to review your emergency plans, build your hurricane supply kit, and make sure your family is prepared before a storm threatens our area.

Preparedness is especially important for seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, and households with pets. Taking small steps today can help protect you and your loved ones later.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. A time to recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. At Volusia-Flagler County Coalition for the Homeless, we understand that stable housing, support systems, compassion, and access to resources all play a vital role in mental wellness.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and no one should have to face them alone. This month, we encourage our community to prioritize self-care, check in on one another, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health conversations.

A simple act of kindness, listening without judgment, or connecting someone to support can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can continue building a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate community for all. 💚

🎄✨ SANTA’S WORKSHOP IS COMING TO LIFE! ✨🎄

We’ve officially started decorating for our Toys for Tots Santa’s Workshop, and the holiday magic is already taking shape! 🎁🎅
Right now our team is busy transforming the space with lights, garland, and festive touches to get ready for toy pickup on December 12th — sorting begins right after!

And this year, we’re adding a beautiful new tradition…

🌟 THE MEMORIAL TREE 🌟
For a $10 donation, you can purchase an ornament in honor of a loved one. Their name will be displayed on our Memorial Tree throughout the holiday season — a heartfelt way to remember and honor someone special.

All proceeds go directly to Safe Place, our elderly (62+) transitional housing program.

24 local seniors need our help.

The Safe Place Program for Seniors has been a haven for older adults in Volusia and Flagler Counties — providing warmth, safety, and dignity to those who’ve lost everything.

But right now, the program is at risk of closing its doors. Without community support, 24 elderly residents could lose the only safe home they have.

🌟 Join the 2026 Point in Time (PIT) Count Volunteer Team! 🌟

Every year, the Point in Time Count helps us capture a 24-hour snapshot of homelessness across Volusia & Flagler Counties — and we need your help to make it happen.

🗓 When: January 21–22, 2026 (12 PM–12 PM)
📍 Where: Various locations across Volusia & Flagler Counties
💪 Why it matters: This federally mandated count directly impacts how much funding our community receives for housing and homelessness services.

✨ Volunteers will:

Attend a brief pre-event training

Administer surveys to people experiencing homelessness at partner sites or in the field (woods, camps, etc.)

Work alongside local teams to collect as many surveys as possible
