Our students who are blind or visually impaired hit the lanes for an afternoon of bowling, laughter, friendly competition, and FUN! From cheering each other on to celebrating every pin knocked down, their joy says it all. ❤️

Everyone deserves opportunities to try something new, build confidence, and enjoy life to the fullest. Keep opening doors and let them show you what they can do!

October is Blindness and Vision Awareness Month! 👁️

This month, we're celebrating the independence, abilities, accomplishments, and everyday experiences of people who are blind or visually impaired.

At the Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired, we see every day what is possible when individuals have access to the right skills, resources, training, and opportunities.

“I have to do something.”

When Kathy Davis was first diagnosed with vision loss, she turned to her doctor and asked a simple question: “What do I do?”

The answer was, “I don’t know.”

But for Kathy, it was the beginning of her determination to find answers, adapt, and keep moving forward.

In this video, Kathy shares that pivotal moment and the mindset that helped shape her journey. Her story is a powerful reminder of why access to resources, training, and a supportive community can be so important for someone facing vision loss.

BINGO NIGHT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS! 🎉

Tonight was filled with excitement, laughter, friendly competition, and learning!

Our students had a wonderful opportunity to put their Braille skills into practice by identifying letters and numbers throughout the game. While everyone enjoyed the excitement of playing Bingo and competing for prizes, the evening was about so much more than winning!

Through this fun and interactive activity, students strengthened their Braille recognition skills, practiced concentration, and enjoyed socializing with their peers.

At Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired, we believe learning can be both meaningful and FUN! 💙💛

Tonight was a WIN for everyone because every opportunity to learn, grow, and build confidence matters! 🏆👏

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make tonight another successful event!
