This is what recovery looks like! At ReNew Recovery Café, recovery is about more than personal growth—it's about community, purpose, and giving back.

Today we're celebrating some of our amazing Members who help make our Café a welcoming place for everyone. Whether they're serving coffee at the barista bar, helping with lunch service, greeting others, or keeping our space clean and inviting, their contributions make a difference every single day.

Giving back is a core part of the Recovery Café model. It helps build confidence, creates meaningful connections, and reminds us that everyone has something valuable to offer.

These acts of service may seem small, but they represent something much bigger: healing, belonging, responsibility, and hope.

Thank you to all of our Members who help make ReNew Recovery Café the special community it is. This is recovery in action. This is what recovery looks like.

A huge congratulations to Russ on taking an important step forward!

With support from the staff at ReNew Recovery Cafe, Russ has successfully moved into the Barracks of Hope program through Halifax Urban Ministries. Barracks of Hope provides transitional housing, daily meals, and comprehensive case management services for veterans experiencing homelessness, helping individuals build a strong foundation for their future.

Stories like Russ's remind us why community matters. Recovery, stability, and hope are possible when people have access to support, resources, and opportunities.

Today at ReNew Recovery Café, we were able to share some generously donated food with our Members and guests — helping provide nourishment, connection, and care to our community.

Every donation makes a difference. Each week, ReNew Recovery Café provides more than 400 meals to our friends in the community, and support from local businesses, organizations, and community members helps make that possible.

Happening this Sunday in our parking lot - 316 North Street

On the 3rd Sunday of every month, this amazing group comes together in our parking lot to serve a warm, delicious meal to our friends and neighbors.

We’re so grateful for Daughters of The King, Chapter #670, Hop On Transportation, and T & R Helping Hands Corp for their continued commitment to showing up and serving our community month after month.

At ReNew Recovery Café, giving back is part of recovery.

Our Café is truly a Members’ Café — a community where everyone has a role in creating a welcoming, healing space for one another. Today, we are proud to recognize Members who give back each day through acts of service, kindness, and connection.

From serving meals and helping keep the Café clean and organized, to assembling hygiene and harm reduction kits for our friends connected to Street Outreach, these contributions help make our community stronger.

Recovery happens through belonging, purpose, and supporting one another — and our Members demonstrate that every single day. Thank you for all you do to make ReNew Recovery Café a place of hope, dignity, and compassion.

Today we say “see you later” to one of the very first faces of ReNew Recovery Café—Joe.

From day one, Joe welcomed everyone with a smile and made people feel seen—remembering names, faces, and stories in a way that made our community feel like home.

Behind that warm presence was also a quiet strength, helping keep the Café a safe and supportive space for all.
