Pedro’s story has a happy new chapter! We rescued this handsome fellow from the Nevada Humane Society, and he has now found his forever home at the Triple S Ranch. From the moment he arrived, Pedro was welcomed by the whole ranch family and quickly settled into country life. With his proud strut, colorful personality, and unmistakable rooster charm, he’s already making himself right at home—and we’re delighted to have him as the newest member of the Triple S Ranch family.

Meet Dave, our handsome Golden Pheasant!

When Dave first arrived at our rescue, he looked nothing like the dazzling bird you see today. His feathers were a soft, pale tan—very much like his mate, Jane. At the time, you would never have guessed the spectacular transformation that was waiting to unfold.

Now, almost a year later, Dave has blossomed into one of the most colorful residents at the ranch. His brilliant golden crest, fiery red breast, emerald back, and striking patterned tail have emerged in full splendor, rivaling even the beauty of our peacocks.

It's one of nature's little miracles. Young male Golden Pheasants develop their magnificent adult plumage over time, and watching Dave's transformation has been an absolute joy. Jane still adores him—though she now has one very handsome fellow to keep an eye on!

Every rescued animal has a story, and Dave's is a beautiful reminder that with time, patience, and loving care, true colors have a way of shining through.

Hello Everyone,

Every rescued animal has a story.

Some were abandoned. Some were neglected. Some were frightened, hungry, or simply forgotten. But every one of them deserved a second chance.

At The Judy Project Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, we've dedicated ourselves to giving those second chances. For years we've opened our hearts and our gates to horses, dogs, cats, burros, birds, and many other animals that had nowhere else to go. Here, they find safety, kindness, medical care, and—most importantly—love.

But we can't do it alone.

Every bale of hay, every bag of feed, every veterinary visit, every warm bed, and every safe shelter is made possible by compassionate people who believe that every life matters.

A Special Rescue from Reno

This beautiful young peacock recently arrived at The Judy Project Animal Rescue & Sanctuary after being rescued in the Reno area. She came to us with an unusual and heartwarming companion—a young chicken who has become her best friend.

For now, our little peafowl will be living safely in one of our protected stall rooms, where she and her chicken companion can continue to grow up together in comfort and security. As she matures, she will receive the specialized care, shelter, and attention needed to help her thrive.

At The Judy Project, we believe every animal deserves a second chance, whether they have feathers, fur, or hooves. Watching friendships like this one reminds us that companionship and kindness often come from the most unexpected places.

We look forward to sharing updates as this young peacock grows from a tiny rescue into a magnificent adult bird.
