If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now’s your chance! We are currently accepting Dayton Rodeo Queen Pageant applications and gauging interest for American Flag Carrier Tryouts. Here’s everything you need to know 👇

🇺🇸 American Flag Carrier Tryouts
• Must be a paid Dayton Wrangler member at least 30 days prior to tryouts (by March 20).
• No application required — just let me know if you plan to try out!
• Tryouts: April 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM
• Location: Dayton Rodeo Arena
• Tryout events include: Horsemanship & National Anthem Run

👑 Dayton Rodeo Queen Pageant
• Must be a paid Dayton Wrangler member at least 30 days prior (by April 9).
• Application deadline: April 25
• Late deadline: May 4 ($50 late fee applies)
• Pageant dates: May 9–10
• Location: Dayton Rodeo Arena
• Pageant activities: May 9
• Crowning: Before the rodeo on May 10
• Pageant events include: Horsemanship, Personal interviews, Modeling, Impromptu speaking / prepared speech & Written test

Queening is more than crowns and sashes. It’s about representing a good association, promoting rodeo, serving your community, and growing into a confident, well-spoken leader. Whether you’re brand new to queening or ready to take the next step, now is the perfect time to jump in, learn the ropes, and chase the opportunity.

If your heart is in rodeo, your boots are ready, and you’re excited to put in the work—this could be your year. 🤍👑

The 2025 Dayton Rodeo Queens, American Flag Carrier, and Iowa Flag Carrier invite you to join us for a fun-filled night for the whole community! Our first fundraiser will feature a Chili Cook-Off, followed by Bingo—you won’t want to miss it!

🕒 Event Schedule
• 3:00 PM – Doors open for chili cook-off contestants
• 4:45 PM – Doors open to the public and spectators
• 5:00–5:45 PM – Chili sampling & voting
• 6:00 PM – Bingo begins immediately following the cook-off

🌶️ Chili Cook-Off Details
• Open to the entire community
• Each contestant may enter one crockpot/roaster of any kind of chili
• $5 entry fee per contestant

🍽️ For Spectators
• $1 to sample all the chilis and vote for your favorite

🎉 Bingo Night
• $1 per card per game
• Final blackout game with a cash prize at the end
• 50/50 raffle held during bingo

🍪 Bake Sale (During Chili Cook-Off/Bingo)
• Hot cocoa, coffee, and other tasty treats available for purchase

Happy New Year!!

I had the opportunity to spend new years with the C. R. McKellips Rodeo Co., Inc. and what a time! The New Year's Rodeo Stampede was an experience I will never forget. I was fortunate enough to help with opening/closing ceremonies, sign autograph sheets, push cattle, and catch up with the other lovely ladies that came along! Not only did they give us ladies the opportunity to be in the rodeo, they also mounted us on the best buckskin boys! My mount for the week, Rip, was the best boy through the whole rodeo. I cannot thank the McKellips family enough for the amazing hospitality and wonderful experience!

I also would like to thank Avid Visual Imagery Rodeo Photography for catching the best photos all week!

What a wonderful way to spend a cold winter day! I had a great time in Dayton this weekend, catching up with old friends, making some new ones, talking to the famous Santa about my latest updates to my Christmas list, and enjoying a fun new game that has easily become my new favorite winter activity. Thank you so much to the Dayton Wranglers for inviting me out for such a fun time.
