Rookie Rugby is Back!
EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE RELAUNCH OF ROOKIE RUGBY…PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD!
Greetings and Welcome to Dayton Rookie Rugby!
I'm glad you've expressed interest in Youth Rugby - the fastest growing sport in America (and one of the fastest growing sports globally). No experience? No problem. Youth rugby is a great way to have fun, learn the game, and develop skills at any level. Rugby doesn’t just build athletes, it builds life long friends and community. Our spring season runs from March - May and welcomes boys and girls grades K-8 with all levels of experience.
We started the DAYTON NORTHERN FORCE RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB in 2015, and are proud to expand that program to grades K-8 with Rookie Rugby this year. We have the following youth rugby programs in Dayton for Spring, 2025:
K-2nd Grade Co-Ed Touch Rugby
3-4th Grade Co-Ed Touch Rugby
5th-6th Grade Boys Tackle
5th-6th Grade Girls Tackle
7th-8th Grade Boys Tackle
7th-8th Grade Girls Tackle
YOUTH PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
All practices will be at the Dayton Rugby Grounds (see address below)
K-2nd Grade Co-Ed Touch Rugby - Will practice 15-20 min prior to playing starting at 1pm on Sundays
3-4th Grade Co-Ed Touch Rugby - Will practice Wednesday from 6-7pm
5th-6th Grade Boys Tackle - Will practice Tues/Thursdays 6-7:30pm starting 3/4/25
5th-6th Grade Girls Tackle - Will practice Mon/ Wed 6-7:30pm starting 3/10/25
7th-8th Grade Boys Tackle - Will practice Tues/Thursdays 6-7:30pm starting 3/4/25
7th-8th Grade Girls Tackle - Will practice Mon/Wed 6-7:30pm starting 3/10/25
GAME DAY SCHEDULE:
For K-2nd and 3-4th Co-Ed Touch Rugby all home game days will be played on Sundays 1-3pm at the Dayton Rugby Grounds (620 Shiloh Dr, Dayton OH 45415). There will be a minimum of 3 matches each Sunday.

For 5-6th and 7-8th Tackle (both Boys and Girls) will alternate between Moeller High School (9001 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242) and Dayton Rugby Grounds (620 Shiloh Dr, Dayton OH 45415). There will be a minimum of 3 matches each Sunday.

May 24 - State Championship - Cincinnati

EQUIPMENT:
OUTDOOR TRAINING: Rugby/football/soccer cleats, cold weather training clothing, mouth guard, and water. COME PREPARED! ***We train outdoors during all weather with the exception of lightning.
SHORTS: You can buy Rugby Shorts or Socks on the two links below

MATCHES: Rugby/football/soccer cleats, rugby shorts, mouth guard, water. ***MATCHES are played during all weather conditions with the exception of lightning.
MERCHANDISE: Merchandise will be available for online purchase. We will have an online store where you can buy both Dayton Rookie Rugby merchandise as well as Dayton Northern Force High School Rugby.
VOLUNTEERS: No rugby experience is necessary. We are also in need of volunteers to take pictures of each age level and film the 4-8th grade tackle this year.
