Miami Valley Novas June 2026 Newsletter VOL.12 NO.6

Hello Everybody,

As I sit down to write this month's newsletter as I do each month about a week before the 1st, we have just had Memorial Day to honor our brave people who have given their lives for this great nation and our freedom we love so much. We all need to remember "Freedom is not free!". Of course, this day marks also the unofficial beginning of Summer, so have fun, but always remember to be safe. The big news from the past month is certainly the unexpected death of Kyle Busch on May 21st. I won't go into detail about all of his racing achievements, because that's all the media has been covering and talking about. Rather I want people to know that as a Christian, Kyle put God first in his life both in racing, as a husband, and father of two. He even said that God gave him a real perspective on his life. Yes, passing at the young age of 41 is sad to all of us, but passing with God at your side in life is something we can all be grateful for. I guess it's true when they say "The good die young!".

As we begin this first full month of Summer, remember to always be safe when driving your classic ride to and from an event because there are people out there that will purposely cut you off just because you're driving a classic. But, then we have all seen this, so be careful. Another thing that has come to my attention in the past and now again is theft at car shows. People are stealing things right off or out of classics. Just recently, one of our friends had something taken right off of his engine that is not replaceable, and others have told me that they also have had things come up missing at shows, so let's all keep an eye out for this at events, even if it's not your ride because this is not acceptable!

On Kevin's site, for this month alone, right now over 225 flyers are listed, and the Show n Shine is also filled with many great events. But also remember my Top Picks List and those I have links to in the top two boxes of the Miami Valley Novas Website. Remember this site is done for you, so tell others and use it to find those great shows, parts and photos.

As for June, there are only a few things people have asked me to mention. The Reichard Chevrolet Cruise into Summer on the 7th, Men of Faith & Agape Church Car Shows on the 13th, Vern and Stacy Cook's Annual Car Show at their home on the Saturday before Father's Day, the Big Voss Chevrolet Show on Friday the 19th. Take Notice. This is a new date for the event. National Trail on the 27th, and the Cruise-In for Kids on Sunday the 28th. All of course are listed on my Top Picks List on the MVN Website with more info on them, and a special shout out about our friends at the Urbana Cruisers doing their 3rd Annual Matt Hadden Memorial Car Show on the 7th of June - 10 AM to 4 PM. A flyer on this event is on Car Event Flyers by Kevin.

Now to briefly review what has taken place in May. First of all, the 9th Annual Lawrenceburg ALS Show was huge this year despite a cold start of 32 degrees. The show ended up with 875 entries, and our friend Eugene Thomason with his beautiful 1955 Chevy won Best of Show. On Sunday, May 3rd, I went up to the Heart of Ohio Cruise-In and got a few photos of Chuck Sivils of Car Tunes doing his thing (p.5-8), and then stopped by at the big opening of Buc-ee's (p.105-116). Soon I hope to have up my complete photo shoot over the past year of construction of this huge place in Huber Heights, Ohio. On the 10th, over 300 entries filled Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio for the 40th Annual Shrine Mothers Day Car Show. As you will see from my 432 photos, this event, like always, brought in classics from all over and of course, Don Sparks, A.K.A. Go4Rider was there to again capture in video some fantastic shots, as well of the classics coming in (p.13-24). At noon, the opening ceremony with the sky diver with American flag was a big hit along with the Shrine Middletown Honor Guard (p. 157-188). Of course, I shot every classic, and Rod Henning with his red 1965 Mustang took Best of Show (p.417-420). Oh, and yes, MVN was their to again support this fantastic organization (p.297-332). Then one week later, on the 17th, Cincy Street Rods had their first show at the new location, Warren County Fairgrounds, and everybody had a great time. Again, every car was photographed, making this a 608 pictorial. It was actually difficult to even get it down to this number of photos. I even left out the Swap Meet, but did get Go4Rider (p. 117-124) and J.D. Hughes (p.189-196) doing the opening ceremony. And as always, M.V.N was their to support the club Cincy Street Rods and their special charities for the children (p.429-528). If you want to see who won the Top 50, take a look at the photos of them (p.529-587). It really is a good new location.

As you know, I like to remind you of things you might want to check out and the Kettering American Legion Post 598 will again be doing their last Sunday of the month Freedom Cruise-In from June thru September starting at 11 AM. No entry fee, but food and drink are available to purchase. The Beavercreek Cruise-In at Vineyard Church at 4551 Indian Ripple Road on every Friday night is a great place to cruise-in. They always have a food truck and a lot of cool cars and trucks to look at. View my photo shoot of May 9th 2025 to see why cool classics come from all over to be part of this weekly gathering. And every Thursday from 4-9 PM, Get Air is the place to be in Huber Heights, Ohio. Good weather always means a big turn out at this location on Chambersburg Road. Of course, a list can be found on the MVN website and on Kevin's site as well.

Looking at next month with the big 250th Anniversary of our great nation, there will be so many shows to choose from, so I'll just leave that up to you for now. But do take a look at your Show n' Shine Calendar to get an idea of what to do. As for Kevin's site, right now Car Event Flyers Top Left Box on the Car Show Page has 550 Flyers listed to look at so take a peek at this great site.

Before I close, just a few more things to cover. The St. Susanna Knights of Columbus Show on the 6th and the National Trail Show on the 27th have both informed me that this will be their last shows if no one takes them over for next year. The Reichard Cruise Into Summer on June 6th will be a MVN get-together, so members can park in a line-up if you want. I have no photos of the May Springfield Swap Meet Car Show due to the rain that weekend. I've been told only two cars were there and many vendors even packed up and left on Friday. For those of you reading this newsletter early, the Calvary Open Bible Car Show will take place on Saturday May 30th. See Photos May 31, 2025 on the MVN site to check it out. Also Chuck's Heart of Ohio monthly cruise-in will take place on May 31st and not June 7th so that he can play music at the Urbana Cruisers Show on that date. So come and support the Matt Hadden Memorial Show. See the Flyer on Kevin's site for more info.

In closing, Chuck is again looking for sponsors for his Annual Wooden Nickel Event in October. Please remember to let others know about MVN and all it has to offer. If your should see something wrong on the MVN site, let me know. I love it when people tell me I got something wrong. Remember, no June Get Air Show this year. Always check out Go4Rider. Don works hard by donations only to bring you this site, so if you can, help him out. Keep sending those flyers to Kevin if you want your show to be a success. I know it sounds crazy, but keep washing your hands. Getting sick from germs is a real drag. And, as always, say a prayer for our friends who are not doing well. It only takes a moment to do this.

Did you know: I have a love of classic motorcycles and own three of them that I show at local events in the summer.

Movie of the Month: Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum 1958. A moonshiner tries to keep ahead of the law.

Photos of the Month: Shrine Mothers Day Show at Smith Park and Cincy Street Rods at Warren County Fairgrounds.

Quote of the Month: Life has it's ups and downs so always get back up when it gets you down.

This just in The Troy Strawberry Festival Car Show on the 7th of June is set to be the biggest one ever according to my contact Taylor. So let's all check it out!

Well, that's it for now,

As always,

Be careful out there,

and may God Bless you all,

Rob

MIAMI VALLEY NOVAS MAY 2026 NEWSLETTER VOL.12 No.5

Hello Everybody,

Let me first start off by saying,“Welcome to the 2026 Season of Cruisin', to Car Shows, events and weekly get-togethers”. With the cold weather now finally in the rear view mirror, we can look forward to all that comes with nice days and nights. Of course, we will all have those outdoor jobs to get done, but I would much rather cut grass than shovel snow. With the war now beginning to wind down, I'm sure gas will come down as well, so hang in there and always look for the best price when you fill up your classic car, truck, motorcycle or daily driver.

As you know, the Miami Valley Novas Newsletter is not totally about our way of life. I like to also do whatever I can to help others and in the past few years, I have come across several people who have had the shingles and have lived to regret not getting the vaccination. Each one of them have told me how painful it is, so please get the shots. I've also done some research on this, and it's not good what I found out. It can cause lifelong nerve damage, skin problems, and even blindness, and don't think because you've never had the chicken pox, you're not at risk of getting shingles. This is not true, you could have been exposed to the virus and not even know it, and have it laying in your body ready to explode at any time. My good friends, please take what I am saying to you very seriously. Right now, a good friend of mine is going through it, and she is in terrible pain. So if you are over fifty, as many of you are, get the vaccination! The government even pays for it. I know right now, somebody is saying, “this won't happen to me”, but the fact is one in three will get the shingles. Please don't be that person! I'm only saying this to help you. Trust me, if you get this, you'll be saying to yourself, like my friend Patti is, “I wish I would have gotten the vaccination”.

On Saturday, April 25th, many of us made our way down to Horsepower Farm for the 5th Annual Hail to Horsepower Car Show Event. I like to use the word event to also describe this show, because as you will see from my six hundred picture portfolio, there was much more going on than just the car show. Now for those of you who don't know it, this is the replacement show for the Sharonville Show that would kick off the car show season in the Miami Valley Area, and Rick and Sue Willis have done a fantastic job in doing this event. This year, we believe about 300 hundred classics were on site, but even though they paid to enter, only 219 registered to be able to win a plaque. That's the spirit of this fundraising event. Because so much was going on, please look at this year's pictorial. But I do want to mention a few things starting with the vendors at (photos No. 29 thru 72) and yes, the Show and Shine Calendar was available for purchase, and many got their copy hot off the press (see p. 65-68). For the kids, the Slimer was there, along with Lightning McQueen and the Tonka Truck (p.73-82 and 145-148) and we can't forget the M&M's car with candy (p 197-201). As always, the Police K-9 display was a big hit with all, as was the skydiving team, Fastrax (p 253-272). Of course what would the day be like without some delicious food and drinks to enjoy in the main building (p. 273-296). And, the cars and trucks were just beautiful to look at all day long. Every classic was photographed and is shown in this pictorial along with many of our friends showing them. The Awards Ceremony got off at about 3:30 p.m. (p.449-553), along with the auction of ten special items (p. 487-508). Again, all for charity! The Great Five along with Best of Show are shown in photos (543-553). This year's Best of Show Winner was Kurt Finton with his beautiful custom 1937 Studebaker Coupe Express (p.544-546). We want to thank Rick and Sue Willis, along with all of the volunteers that made the day a big success. The next event is set for the 4th of July when they will set the Guiness Book of World Records for retiring the most ever American Flags at one time. All are welcome to attend, beginning at about 11 a.m., with the ceremony at 12:01 p.m. Sharp! So bring your old American flags.

With the car show season now in full gear and going with many great shows and cruise-ins, there is just no way to mention them all, but as you know, there are many of us who do our part to keep you informed like the Show and Shine people, Car Event Flyers by Kevin, Don Sparks a.k.a.Go4Rider, and of course, MVN, as well.

So let's talk about this month of May. I'm sorry to say that we have lost another great show. The Ex-Pupils Spring Fever Show is no more. As many of you know, it's hard to get people to help with shows and this was the case, according to Jim who put on this show every year. (See 5-6-23 photos.)

Like always, most of you will once again attend the Annual Shrine Mother's Day Charity Car Show at Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio. But remember, it starts at 7 a.m. in the morning with registration ending at exactly noon. Also, don't forget about the new location of the Big Cincy Street Rod's Show held each year on the third Sunday of May. It will now be at the Warren County Fairgrounds, 665 N. Broadway St., in Lebanon, Ohio.

The Memorial Day Weekend Car Show is again a go for this year on the 4th Saturday of May at Hunter Park, along with the big Cars and Parts Swap Meet Car Show on the same day at the Clark County Fairgrounds. So, you have, as always, got to decide where to go. And I see that the Calvary Open Bible Church Show is also a go as well. Last year was their 2nd Annual Show, and I got some great photos (p.5-31-25) on my Pictures Page, 440 to be exact, so take a look at why so many will attend this show with almost 60 awards to be presented. Check out Don and Digger in photo no. 408. They look like they are having one great time at the show.

On Monday, May 4th, the New Carlisle Cruise-In will start up for another year. (See photos 5-26-25) (No. 82) of Don, Ed and his wife having a great time, and check out the Buc-ees Photos under construction (109-120) that I got, oh and Buc-ees is pretty cool, and now open. A lot can happen in a year as you will see!

I do want to let you know I did pick up a box of the Show and Shine Calendars to sell again this year to people who might not be able to find one, so see me. I will have them at the shows to sell 'em!

Don't forget to save the date for the first Saturday of June for the Annual Cruise into Summer at Reichard Chevrolet in Brookville, Ohio. They always put on a really great show. The Brookville Corvette Club wants you there! (See photos 6-7-25 of my 400 picture pictorial.)

Just a few more important things to cover. The Men of Faith Car Show is back for this year on June 6th on the same day as Agape, but remember these two shows are close by to each other and many people got to both, Men of Faith from 12-5 and Agape from 5-8 p.m.. I've seen cars and trucks win both shows. How cool is that! Another thing to remember is that I've been informed by Stephanie that the Voss Hoss Event has been moved this year from July to June 19th. So please save this date. It's a great time. See my pictorial from last year 7-18-25, you will love it. 600 Photos to cover all the classics, so check it out! Also, there will be no June Car Show this year at Get Air. Tracey says with Tammy not doing well, it's all they can do to put on the weekly Thursday night Cruise-In, however they do hope to do the Fall Show in October. I'll keep you informed. Of course these are only just a few of the many great car shows you will find in your 2026 Edition of the Show and Show Calendar, so take a look at all they have in it to make this year of cruising so much fun.

In closing, as I said last month, watch the weather because a bad storm can happen at anytime. Remember Robin's Saturday Night Cruise-In at the new location. It's on my site. Check out Go4Rider's site for his new cool stuff. Get those flyers to Kevin for his site. It's the first one on my Car Show Page Top Left Box. He has, right now, over 500 listed, but I'm sure there's more to come. I'm seeing more and more crazy drivers out there, so look out for them. I don't even think some are licensed drivers. A free cruise-in will be held on May 31st at 700 Joe Nuxall Blvd, for the kids, free food and drink from 12-2 p.m. Please remember to pray for our friends who are not doing well. It only takes a minute to say soemthing to God, so do it. And, don't forget the 1st Saturday and Sunday Cruise-ins at Horsepower Farm on Saturday, and Sunday at Heart of Ohio Antique Center.

Did you know?: I started out as a machinist at G.M. In the 70's. I ran just about any kind of machine they had.

Movie of the Month: The Song of Bernadette. 1943 Jennifer Jones and Vincent Price. A Young Girl's life is changed forever when seeing Mary, the Mother of Jesus. This is a true story and something everybody should see.

Photos of the Month: The Hail to Horsepower Event on April 25th and all that I spoke of in this Newsletter.

Quote of the Month: Faith is something you can't buy or borrow, but you can acquire.

This just in: I saw on TV that April 30th was the 100th Anniversary of the historic Route 66 Road. How cool is that?

Well, that's it for now,

As always,

Be careful out there,

and may God Bless you all,

Rob

MIAMI VALLEY NOVAS APRIL 2026 NEWSLETTER VOL.12 No.4

Hello Everybody,

As we move further into this first full month of Spring I can't help but think of the Winter we just experienced with record snow falls and record cold days that seemed to drag on and on. I'm sure we all are happy to now see warmer days and sunshine. However, the war has not been so great, because any loss of human life is really not something we want and now with gas costing about two dollars more a gallon, many people will find it much harder to make ends meet. So, let's pray this conflict will end soon and we can all have a much safer world for our children and grandchildren and us to live in.

April not only brings better weather, it also brings us to a time when we can start to enjoy our way of life. It's always nice to see people out on their motorcycles and of course, those classic cars and trucks being driven for pleasure and to cruise ins and shows and believe me there will be plenty of them. Already, Kevin has over three hundred and thirty posted. So yes, it's going to be a huge year.

I also just spoke to Debbie at the Show and Shine Event Calendar and even though the deadline has passed, they will still be able to get your listing in it if you call them right away at 513-868-7735. Remember, many use it only to find the shows they will attend and also remember your first chance to get it hot off the press will be at the 5th Annual Hail to Horsepower Car Show on April 25. If you have never been to Horsepower Farm, save the date. It's a nice time.

If you have not yet heard, Buc-ee's will open in Huber Heights on the 6th and on the first Thursday of April the Big Cruise-In at Get Air also in Huber Heights will start up if the weather is nice. Now this brings up an important point to always check the weather, especially in April. I know we all want to get back out there, but be prepared for what can happen in Spring. Even though Kevin has over fifty listed on his site in April alone this is a gamble. We don't want anyone to get caught in a bad situation with their rides. Already this year, Don, a.k.a Go4Rider and myself have had a chance to experience some great events like the 4th Annual Powerama Custom Auto Show, Millers Car Show and Swap Meet, the Off Road Expo, and of course, Cavalcade of Customs. So, if you get a chance, check out our photos. Oh by the way, the Millers Car Show had 121 entries and Terry Bach took 1st Place with his beautiful 1969 Shelby. Also, Don has some great video of the annual event Race Cars and Future Stars held every March at the Piqua Mall. So check out his stuff.

If you have not yet been told Cincy Street Rods has a new place for their car show to be held on May 17th. It will be at the Warren County Fairgrounds 665 W. Broadway Street in Lebanon, Ohio and remember Robin has a new site for her Saturday Night Cruise In, starting May 2nd. It will be at 3205 Woodman Drive. Everything on wheels is welcome. She loves to see that strange stuff you people come up with and as always music and a food truck to keep the fun going.

When I was taking photos at the Millers Event, I got to know Rikki Shoemaker and she wanted me to mention the 3rd Annual Joshua Shoemaker Memorial Car, Truck n' Bike Show to be held on May 16th in Greenfield, Ohio. There is a flyer on Kevin's site with all the info. So maybe save this date for it. Also, when shooting the Cavalcade of Customs, I ran into George, who had one of his cars on display and he said most likely this will be the last year for the Knights of Columbus Car Show in Mason, Ohio. So you might want to save this date as well, the 1st Saturday of June, and I do have photos listed, June 1, 2024.

Of course, in May on Mothers Day, we will all again be heading down to Smith Park for the Annual Shriners Mothers Day Charity Car Show Event. This is one most of us never miss. I have many photos of it from past years, so if you have never been, make this the year to check it out. It's for a good cause and you will have a good time showing your special ride. 300 entries are not uncommon, so you will see something you like and remember this is also a big motorcycle show with lots of cool bikes to look at. Naturally, it would not be May without the big event in Springfield, Ohio, the Ohio Swap meet and Car Show that so many of us look forward to will take place on the 22nd and 23rd from 8 am to 5 pm. Between the car show, the swap meet, the food and the music by our buddy Chuck of Car Tunes, you cant' help but have a good time. And also remember his first cruise-in will be on Sunday April 12th at the Heart of Ohio Antique Center. There will be a cruise-in on May 30 called Chrome and Carroll at 4524 Linden avenue. They sent me an email and asked me to mention it as did the Antioch Shrine in Downtown Dayton to let you know that their show is no longer to be held on Sunday in August. It will be a Friday night show, so mark your calendars for the 28th. The time will be 4-8 p.m. I will let you know again when we get close to that day. And the National Trail 14th Annual Car Show is a go for the 27th of June with a rain date of the 28th. These are just a few of the great events that will be taking place this year. Once we get going into the new car show season, I'm sure I will have more to mention.

I would like to say thank you to everybody who is a loyal follower of Miami Valley Novas. Every month, more and more of you are going to the website and reading my monthly newsletters to get information on events and the great people who put them on. Many times I am told that if were not for what both Don sparks and people like Kevin Foust “Car Event Flyers” and MVN are doing, they would miss out on some great events. This is why on my Car Show Page, the top two boxes are for people who are doing things to help you, so please take a look at these great links to their sites, because quite frankly, I can't do it all. There is so much out there to cover and these people are doing a great job in helping to promote our hobby or as I say, our way of life. So take a look!

You may have noticed how I am always asking you to pray for those special things and also people who are not doing well. The reason for this is I do believe in the power of prayer. It seems like every week someone will call or text me on a person we all know who is not doing well, or something has happened to them. Take the other day. I got a card in the mail to let me know a person we all know has had a stroke, and now he cant' drive his classic cars and since I don't want to mention names without permission, I will only say “please remember our friends”. I know from my own experience of having a stroke last November, it's hard to come back to your old self. I still have problems from having two of them incapacitating my own life, and I will admit, I'm not the same person I was before this happened to me. So, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to keep doing what I do. At this time, I have no plans on stopping. I want to keep going, but as I approach 70 and after 20 years of doing MVN, it might be time to slow down a bit. None of us are getting any younger

Some people I see are not stopping when they encounter a funeral procession. So I asked a State Trooper if there is a law on this and in fact there is. But also out of just respect, pull over and allow them to have that last ride.

After 95 years, David's Reliable Glass in North Dayton is going out of business. I hate to see a shop like this close. I know, like you, I have used them for my properties many times over the years. And now I'm told that Mershons is now closed as well. They always had some cool classics for sale.

In closing, remember to take a look at my photos and also what Don Sparks A.K.A. Go4Rider has for you to enjoy and of course, those in the Top Two Boxes of my Car Show Page. Don't forget the big Hail to Horsepower Car Show on the 25th of April at 2227 Trinity Drive in Middletown, Ohio 45044. Please program me into your phone Rob MVN 937-750-5073 so you will know it's me if I call you. These robo calls I know make you not want to answer. Be sure to get that info to the Show and Shine Auto Event Calendar right now to make it into the 2026 edition. The phone number is 513-868-7735. Make a point of washing your hands every chance you get. They are the most dirty part of the body and there are always germs out there to make us get sick. Just take a few moments to stop and Thank God each day for what you have because in a blink of an eye, it can all be gone. Please pray for our friends who are not well. Many cannot any longer get out to be with us at our events.

Did you know: I have a 38 year old autistic son that I take care of almost everyday. Just another reason why I can't go to as many events that I would like to attend.

Movie of the Month: With it being Easter, it has to be the Passion of the Christ 2004 by Mel Gibson. The last hours of Jesus Christ and his death by suffering crucifixion.

Photos of the Month: My new photos are not yet up. I'm dealing with some personal problems. I hope to get them up soon! But do look at the Powerama stuff if you haven't yet.

Quote of the Month: Never lose Hope for Hope is always a wonderful thing and we really can't survive without it.

This just in: The James Miller Memorial Car Show has now found a new place to be held at: Heritage Oak Park in Mason, Ohio. The show will be 9-27-2026. So save the date.

Well, that's it for now,

As always,

Be careful out there,

and may God Bless you all,

Rob

MIAMI VALLEY NOVAS MARCH 2026 NEWSLETTER VOL.12 No.
Hello Everybody,
Since we are now in the month of March, I'm sure everybody is happy to see February in the rear view mirror, because it certainly was something, shall we say, unique in many ways. We saw record snowfall and record cold and in other parts of the country, just to the south of us, a record ice storm, and now most recently,in the New York area, they had a cyclone type blizzard. So I think we can all pray a thank you to God that we missed both of them. As we continue to look forward to the weather getting better, Spring is now only nineteen days away, but then I remind myself that this is Ohio and we all know Ohio is notorious for unexpected weather events when they should not be taking place. Of course, I think another prayer might be in order for the many people who lost their lives during these bad winter storms around our great nation.

So first of all, let's look at where we are in the transitional month of March, because the month has so much to offer. I think everybody is looking forward to the big come back event at the newly remodeled Cincinnati Convention Center. It will be interesting to see what they have done with the place. The Cavalcade of Customs will take place on the 13th thru the 15th. Hours of the show dates, along with the cost can be found by going to their website. A link on the MVN web page can take you there. Since these dates conflict with my regular attendance of the Miller Swap Meet Car Show on the 14th, I will be there on Sunday to cover the Cavalcade and get photos. Now speaking for myself and many of you as well, the annual events at the Ross County Fairgrounds are always a good time. The entire Miller family work very hard throughout the year to bring us the Spring and Fall events. So, if you have never been there, many photos are on the MVN site for you to discover how much fun is waiting to be had at this car show and swap meet. One sad point, Thomas Bowen, their long time photographer has just recently passed away. I knew him well, and I can say we have lost another great friend of our car show family. Rest in peace, Thomas. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you.

On Sunday, the 22nd, the 27th Annual Spring Auto Parts Swap Meet will again take place at the Fairfield county Fairgrounds 8 AM to 2 PM for more info, call Steve Boyer at 740-407-3027, and he will be happy to help you out. The big Fort Wayne Rod & custom Auto Show on the 27th through the 29th will be at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The flyer with the info can be found on the MVN site, by going to Car Event Flyers by Kevin, top left box. Oh, by the way, he has already close to 150 flyers now up so keep them coming if you want your show to be part of his site. Thank you, Kevin for doing this. We love it! The Annual Freeman's Super Sunday Swap Meet located in Exposition Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds will again have the place filled with parts of all kinds for all types of cars and trucks. Hours are from 8 AM to 3 PM. The date is the 29th. Cost is $8, and kids 11 and under are free.

I want to take a moment to talk about next month. April, as you know, can be tricky when it comes to our way of life. Although many car shows and cruise-ins will start to take place, remember it's the weather that counts if a show or cruise-in is really going to happen, so check first before you go. However, the big Hail to Horsepower at Horsepower Farm is set to take place on Saturday, the 25th. This all day show has become one not to miss out on because so much will be taking place. Although on Kevin's site, there are many listed for this date. Not one is going to give you the experience of what Horsepower Farm can provide to the classic car community, and if you still don't believe what Rick and Sue Willis do, take a look at my photos. Also, it's your first opportunity to get the Show N' Shine Calendar. Remember you still have time to get your event listed. Many car show people only use this to find shows they will attend in 2026, so call my friends, Roy and Debbie at 513-868-7735, and they can set you up with an ad.

The World of Wheels postponed day is set for April 18th. This show was moved because of the ice storms. For more info on this huge event, click the link on the MVN Car Show Page and it will take you to their great site. Robin McCaffery has now found a new place to hold the big Saturday Night Cruise-In. The new Kettering site is at 3205 Woodman Drive, the Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton, is the location she could secure given the fact so many don't realize that we bring the community. The start up date is May 2nd thru October 3rd. As always, I know everybody will be respectful of this parking lot. Tracy and Tammy of Old Rollers Car Club will begin the Get Air Thursday Night Cruise-In located in Huber Heights, Ohio on April 2nd, if the weather is good for cruisin'. Also remember many more local cruise-ins will be starting up, so check your Show N' Shine Calendar for more of them.

The Springfield Swap Meet held on February 21st, was by far the best and biggest one ever held. All four buildings were used and even outdoor space as well. If you missed it, you missed a good one. There were thousands n' thousands checking it out.

Now for the big 4th Annual Powerama Custom Auto Show, but wait. I should say the Fantastic Powerama Show because it really was a fantastic event. Four buildings, three days, two fantastic people, Jeff & Kim Lane, making one great show. About 175 entries were on site, giving everybody who attended something so special many were calling it the best one so far. As of right now, I don't have my photos up to tell you what to look at because of getting out the MVN Newsletter and taking care of my special needs son have taken priority, but Don Sparks has a lot of great video on Go4Rider site. But rest assured, I will have a big photo pictorial up very soon, along with the Springfield Swap Meet. Just to touch on a few things, people loved Butch Patrick and his Dracula Coffin car. I did get a chance to spend some time with him, and he really is a nice person. During my 30 minute interview, we talked about many things, but what I found most interesting is his latest project, and he said I could mention this. He is building a full scale replica of the Munster Coach. How cool is that? When I asked if he is going to bring it next year, his reply was “That's my plan!” Of course, for the drag racing fans, Shirley Muldowney was there to sign autographs and talk about her unbelievable life as a top fuel dragster. There was also a line to get a photo with her as your will see when I get the pictorial put together. Best of Show went to my friends, Jim and Jan Wilkins with their beautiful 1969 Corvette. What a nice display. But what really took me by surprise was at the very end of the awards ceremony, when they called Don Sparks of Go4Rider and myself up to the stage area, and then they presented both of us with beautiful plaques for all we do to help the classic car community. I know I can speak for Don, when I say this was a huge honor and came completely unexpected. I, myself have received many other nice awards, but this one ranks high on my list. In fact, the last time I felt this way about an award for what I do is when I received the Ohio Automotive Event Preservation Award. So, to all who were a part of this, Don and I say a big Thank You. As for next year, Jeff and his wife, Kim, are already thinking of the 5th Annual Powerama, so save the date and plan on being a part of this great show.

In closing, please remember to let me know if you want to have me cover something in the newsletter, because with the help of other people, like Don Sparks, it is now reaching more people than ever. Darana Race Way will have their opening day April 18th. Ford just announced they are cutting way back on their E-V Line due to lack of sales. Eugene Thomason did come through his open heart surgery with no problems, and is resting well. His first Union City Car Show for 2026 is set for June 6th. The Fall Show is September 12th . Believe it or not, over 100 buildings are hit by cars each year in the Miami Valley. Be careful when driving. Keep washing those hands. Many viruses are out there including COVID. You don't want to get sick. Remember to say a prayer each day for those who are not doing well. And tell others what all the MVN site has to offer. Because I love you all so much, and this is why I'm doing this and keep reading the newsletters. It's going to be a big cruising year.

Did you know: I spent 31 years in County Government as a public servant. I have always loved helping people.

Movie of the Month: The Family Man. Nicolas Cage. A wealthy man comes to realize he made a huge mistake with his life.

Photos of the Month: Powerama 2026. They will be up soon to show you why this event is so special. More next month.

Quote of the Month: Judge wisely of the things of earth and strive each day to achieve the great things of Heaven.

This just in: The Outdoor Off Road Expo was again a huge event. Look for the photos very soon. Also, I spoke to Brian Rowe, a.k.a. “The Grinch”, and he is doing ok from when he was hit by a drunk driver. Maybe at least one more surgery to get back into his jeep. Please pray for Brian. He was almost killed in this crash.

Well, that's it for now,

As always,

Be careful out there,

and may God Bless you all,

Rob
