We are a day late but want to recognize International S*x Workers Day

🌍✨ A day late! We want to take a moment to recognize International S*x Workers Day. At SOAR, we firmly believe that s*x work is work, deserving of respect and support. Let’s continue to advocate for harm reduction and the rights of s*x workers everywhere. Together, we can foster understanding and create a community of compassion. 💜

🌸 Happy Mother's Day! 🌸

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mothers, stepmoms, grandmas, aunts, and all the mother figures who fill our lives with love and support. Your strength and dedication are truly inspiring! 💕

We also want to recognize the mothers who are fighting tirelessly for custody of their children, often facing alienation and heartbreak. We see you, and we hold space for your struggles. You are not alone in this fight, and we stand with you in solidarity.💕

Also we would like to take a moment to acknowledge those mothers whose children have been taken by CPS due to the injustices of the failed drug war. To the mothers who are in prison, missing their children, for any reason, know that you are not alone in your struggle. We understand the heartache you feel, and we stand with you.

Today, we honor every mother and the unique journey they navigate. You are all deserving of love and recognition. 💖

As we reflect on 2024, it's hard not to feel a deep sense of disappointment and betrayal within our community. We watched as someone we once revered in the Harm Reduction space in Ohio—an individual who played a pivotal role in starting the naloxone program—revealed their true colors. This person, who we admired for their contributions, turned out to embody the white Savior complex in a way that ultimately harmed our people.

It's disheartening to see how their actions almost led to the implosion of a vital harm reduction organization, which was supposed to uplift and support our community. What was once a beacon of hope now feels tainted by selfish motivations and a thirst for personal notoriety. It’s clear that their intentions were never truly for our people, but rather for their own gain, leaving us to pick up the pieces.

However, as we move into 2025, there is a silver lining. The real harm reductionists are stepping up, standing firm in their commitment to our community. We are ready to go to war for our people, united against anyone who stands in the way of true progress and healing. It's time to reclaim the narrative and ensure that our efforts are rooted in genuine care and solidarity. We will not be silenced or sidelined. Together, we will rise stronger.
