Aullwood READS (Resources of Earth and Agriculture Discovered and Shared) is now recruiting for our fall program! We are looking for volunteers who would enjoy mentoring children in reading and writing literacy skills, while exploring nature at the same time. Volunteer mentors are needed once a week, either from September 30 to December 9 on Tuesdays, or from October 2 to December 11 on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:45 PM. Training is provided. Aullwood Audubon collaborates with Northridge Elementary on Tuesdays and Smith Elementary on Thursdays. CONSTRUCTION NOTE: Aullwood Farm is unaffected, but a portion of Aullwood Road beginning at Meeker Road is currently closed for road repairs. Aullwood Audubon's nature center remains open but should be accessed via the intersection of Aullwood Road and National Road / U.S. 40. Enter at the yellow OPEN TO AULLWOOD AUDUBON CENTER sign as shown below, and allow a little extra travel time if you're on a deadline. Thanks for your patience!

SCHEDULE NOTE: Aullwood Audubon will operate on a one hour delay on Tuesday, August 5, to support an internal staff meeting. Aullwood's Marie S. Aull Education Center and Aullwood's Charity A. Krueger Farm Discovery Center will open to the public at 10 AM, one hour later than usual, with last admission at 4 PM, trails closing at 4:45 PM and gates closed and locked at 5 PM. Thank you!

A reminder, Aullwood's Nature Center, Farm Discovery Center, facilities, trails and property will be OPEN LIMITED HOURS on the July 4th holiday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025. Last admission on this day will be at 2 p.m. Trails will close at 2:45 p.m. and gates will be closed and locked at 3 p.m. Join us for a little peace on the holiday!
