FLOC (For Love of Children - Dayton) FLOC is a 100% non-profit volunteer agency, serving over 12,000 children in the greater Dayton area. Because every child deserves to know they matter.

For Love of Children (FLOC) is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit organization serving more than 12,000 children each year throughout the Greater Dayton area. Since 1980, FLOC has been dedicated to providing educational support, enrichment opportunities, advocacy, and essential resources to children ages 0-18, including those in foster care, experiencing homelessness, facing financial hardship, or simply in need of a helping hand. Through our 17 programs, we help children learn, grow, and thrive. From tutoring and school supplies to birthday celebrations, music lessons, meals, books, formal attire, holiday gifts, and wish-granting experiences, we believe every child deserves to feel supported, valued, and loved. At FLOC, we're more than a nonprofit - we're a community of volunteers, donors, and advocates working together to create brighter futures for local children. $1,513 raised. 100 more winter coats. Countless warm hearts.

Sometimes, something as simple as a cup of coffee can make a BIG difference in a child's life.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Dutch Bros Coffee and our Miami Valley community, FLOC (For Love of Children) received $1,513 through this year's 'Buck for Kids' campaign!

Through this special campaign, Dutch Bros gives back to local organizations making a difference in their communities. And this year, that generosity will help us purchase another 100 winter coats for children right here in the Miami Valley.

For a child who doesn't have a warm coat, this means so much more than staying warm. It means comfort, confidence, and knowing that someone in their community cares.

For more than 35 years, FLOC has been built on something much bigger than any one person. It's been built on love, compassion, and the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and cared for.

And at the heart of it all is a woman whose love for children has inspired so many others to give back.

As we look toward the future, we're getting ready to share something that means so much to all of us. Something that honors where we've been, what we stand for, and the love that continues to guide everything we do.

Sometimes, a little glue, a little imagination and a whole lot of creativity are exactly what a kid needs.

At FLOC, our Arts & Crafts Center is a place where kids can simply be kids - creating, experimenting, laughing and being proud of something they made all by themselves.

And while the finished masterpieces are pretty great, it’s what happens along the way that matters even more.

They’re building confidence.
They’re expressing themselves.
They’re discovering what they can do.
And most importantly… they’re having FUN!

Arts & crafts is just one of the many programs FLOC offers local children through the Betsy Hoobler Skill Center at FLOC on FIVE. Every program has the same goal: giving kids a safe, supportive place to learn, grow, explore and feel like they belong.

Because sometimes making a difference in a child’s life looks a lot like glue-covered hands and a really big smile.

$11,549 FOR LOCAL KIDS! Now THAT is something worth celebrating!

Thanks to the generosity of the Vintage Iron Motorcycle Club (VIMC), Rap Roadhouse and everyone who supported their recent events, FLOC, received an amazing $11,549!

Between the 50/50 raffle and the giveaway of a custom 1998 Dyna Low Rider, the motorcycle community came together in a BIG way. And the best part? 100% of the proceeds went directly to FLOC to help us continue providing programs, resources, opportunities and support to children who need them most.

As a 100% volunteer-run organization, donations like this mean the world to us. Every dollar helps us continue our mission of making sure local children feel supported, valued and cared for.

To the Vintage Iron Motorcycle Club, Rip Rap Roadhouse, the generous donors, volunteers and everyone who purchased a raffle ticket or helped make these events possible… THANK YOU!

TODAY is the LAST DAY to help keep a local child warm this winter.

When the temperatures drop, having a warm winter coat isn’t just about comfort. It means a warmer walk to school, a more comfortable wait at the bus stop, and one less worry for a child and their family.

That’s why Coats for Kids means so much to us at FLOC.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, today is the day. Your gift can help put a warm coat into the hands of a child right here in our community who needs one.

Even a $25 donation can provide a brand-new coat for a child.

It may feel like a small gesture, but to the child zipping up that warm coat on a freezing Ohio morning, it can mean so much more.

There’s something special about seeing our community come together to make sure every child has something warm to wear this winter.

Maria and Doug Mann recently joined our friends at Living Dayton to talk about the 43rd Annual Coats for Kids Campaign and the difference one simple donation can make for a child right here in the Miami Valley.

For Doug, supporting FLOC is about much more than one campaign. Doug Mann and Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, LPA have stood alongside FLOC and supported our mission for more than 35 years, helping us provide resources, opportunities and a little extra love to children who need it most. We are incredibly grateful for that kind of longtime commitment to our kids and our community. 💛

And now, we need YOUR help!

Just $25 can provide a brand-new coat for a child in need, or you can donate new or gently used washable coats at participating drop-off locations, including Jeff Schmitt Auto Group, Cedar Hill Furniture and Good Feet Store.

📅 Coat donations are being collected through October 9.

A winter coat may seem like such a simple thing - until you’re the child who doesn’t have one.

Thank you to Living Dayton and WDTN for continuing this incredible tradition and helping FLOC make sure more local children can head into the cold months feeling warm, cared for and remembered.
