A good leader relays on experience not luck. Buckskin is open for registration so you can build your outdoor skills. A major portion of scouting is the outdoors and as adults we must past the outdoor skills on to our Scouts.
Our youth leaders need training to build their skills. Miami Valley Council’s National Youth Leadership Training Course will be held June 5-10. Registration is open on the Council web site.

Miami Valley Council is conducting an “Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills” (IOLS) Course at Cricket Holler Scout Camp Friday evening to Saturday evening 9/20 - 9/21. This Course is part of Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster position specific training. Registration is on line at miamivalleybsa.org. Hope to see you there.

Registration is open for National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). Our youth leadership deserves an opportunity to grow their skills, learn new methods, and build their confidence. This year all youth must be 14 years of age (new National requirement). Male participants must be First Class. This year only, female participants may attend even if not First Class so they can offer leadership in their new Troops.

Buckskin Trail 2019 is open for registration! Buckskin teaches the fundamentals of a Scout program- Patrol method, troop structure, basic outdoor skills, youth leadership. The Course is ideal for all newly registered adults, Webelos Leaders preparing to cross over to a Troop, Female Leaders looking to start a new girl Troop, and seasoned Scouters looking for a refresher. The training meets the requirement for BALOO/OWL and Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training. Every Scout deserves a Trained Leader.
Another great reason to sign up for Buckskin is it is FUN!!!!

YP2 (Youth Protection 2) Training update -
This training MUST be taken by Sept 30th!!
National has announced that anyone who has not taken the Training by then will be suspended from participation in Scouting. National is taking this very serious. Do not wait to take the training - do it NOW!

Reminder: BSA National is requiring all registered adults to be YP2 (Youth Protection-2) trained by the end of October 2018. Go to your My.Scouting page and take the training.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation - BALOO Training will be offered August 24-25 at Cricket Holler. Cub leaders this is your chance to get trained to take your Cub Scouts camping. For more information and to register, go to the Miami Valley Council calendar and click on the event.
