The unpredictable weather this spring has prevented us from catching any fish, but it didn't stop us from releasing fish back into the river. We've been raising juvenile salmon all school year in a tank at The Club. They started their journey with us as eggs, and today they got to go home. Thank you, Tri-State Steelheaders, for another fun year of learning about our local flora and fauna!

We had a lot of fun with Sara from Tri-State Steelheaders today! Students learned about fish anatomy and then got to create and race their own fish. It's true, learning can be a lot of fun!

A message from the Executive Director:

Last night we held the eighth annual "Stand-Up for The Club" fundraiser. However, without going into too much detail, the event did not go as planned, leaving me in a very uncomfortable position. Immediately, guests approached me with words and gestures of support and kindness, which instantly set my mind at ease. In spite of what turned out to be a mostly improvised event, everyone in attendance demonstrated remarkable grace. The attendees were clearly there to support The Club first and foremost. I want to extend my most sincere gratitude to everyone who came out, rolled with the punches, and showed how much The Club means to this community. This is not an experience I will soon forget. Thank you all for "standing up" for The Club!

Executive Director

A little - or a LOT - of rain and wind can't keep us down on this blustery, soaking early release day that has relegated us to inside activities. We've baked, we've built, we've played, and we've watched a movie. It's been eventful, to say the least!

And with that, The Club's 2026 Spring Break program draws to a close. It's been a fun week! Special thanks to Columbia County Public Transportation and Columbia County Health System Dietary Services for their important parts in making our program a success. We'd also like to thank Mike, Susie, and Van at Boldman House Museum and Karina, Denise, and Maggie at Dayton Historic Depot for the fantastic educational experiences to round out the program.

Perhaps our spring break program is a little too action-packed. 😉
