🇷🇴 🇺🇸 On this special day, July 11th, we celebrate the first annual celebration of Friendship Day between Romania and the United States of America!

Today, we honor the strong and enduring bonds between our two nations, marked by our Strategic Partnership. July 11th became symbolic for Romanian-American friendship after the launch, on July 11th, 1997, of the U.S. – Romania Strategic Partnership, during President Bill Clinton’s visit to Bucharest. This partnership encompasses shared values of democracy, freedom, and human rights, and spans across numerous areas including security, defense, trade, and cultural exchanges.

The Friendship Day between Romania and the U.S. was established by law, promulgated by President Klaus Iohannis last year.
