Congratulations to filmmakers Ann Rotolante and Patrick Steele, filming has officially wrapped on the main shoot for The Hunting Kind film!

Ann shared "It was a hard-fought, exhausting summer, but we prevailed and the raw footage looks truly amazing. To be honest, the past few months have been a blur - in a good way!

There are a few outstanding insert shots we need to pick up before we lose the summer greenery, so our work continues for a bit longer with minimal crew and equipment. After that, we begin working in earnest with our talented editor to shape the raw footage into a fully-realized narrative.

The Ohio Arts Council deadline for grant applications of up to $5000 is Sept 1st.
The Individual Excellence Awards program recognizes outstanding accomplishments by artists in a variety of disciplines. Awards give artists the resources to experiment and explore their art forms, develop skills and advance their careers, and receive affirmation and acknowledgment for outstanding work. Competitive applications focus on the merit of past artistic work.

Weren't able to join us last night to hear the wisdom shared by our guest speaker, Nichol Simmons, director of the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures at Wright State University?

She shared great info on laws governing film crews, working conditions- like hours, meal requirements and the difference between interns and employees. An upcoming independent non-union, feature film is seeking local crew for production in Dayton, OH this fall. Written and Directed by Ian Mullen - Corner Store.

Cass (post-college, pre-life) takes a service job at The Neon, a quaint independent movie theatre in Dayton. While working there, she’ll go on a path of self-discovery as she explores what it takes to be creative and the importance of the families that you find.

Dates: October 12 – October 29, 2026. Working Mon-Fri, Sat & Sun off. (14 shooting days)
