Praying with the Senses: Join the folks at the Marianist Environmental Education Center (MEEC) for A Winter Wisdom Retreat on Feb 16. The approaching season of Lent invites us to cultivate awareness during the slow transition to springtime. Attendees will explore spiritual practices for encountering the Sacred in nature's winter stillness and within their hearts. They will use the spiritual practice of Lectio Divina, expanding their understanding of this ancient monastic practice of awakening to the divine by meditating with scripture as well as the elements of nature and sacred art. Retreat occurs from noon-5 pm in the Madeleine Room of the Chaminade Center at MSJ. Cost is $35, [$25 for Friends of MEEC]. More information and registration at https://meec.center/event/praying-senses-winter-wisdom-retreat. The Interfaith Forum of Greater Dayton invites everyone living in the Greater Dayton Area to participate in a very special program – “Walk the Earth Gently – A Multifaith Invitation to Sustainable Lifestyles” – this coming Sunday, April 15 (3 – 5pm, Foster Hall, 3rd Floor) at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Kettering.

This highly interactive session is meant to bring together people from many faith backgrounds. We will share ideas, materials, and stories of struggles and success as we, together, explore the various ways we can each make much needed changes that will combat the challenges brought on by the realities of climate change and the much needed reduction of emissions from home energy use and food waste, as well as brainstorm about other changes that need to be made for the sustainability of our planet.
