We're celebrating TWO Ohio Tourism RUBY Awards! 🏆🏆

Together with our partners at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, we received two RUBY Awards for our collaborative marketing campaign for Lights Over Dayton: A Celebration of Flight in the America 250-Ohio Activation and Event Campaign categories at the Ohio Conference on Travel!

The RUBY Awards, presented by the Ohio Travel Association and sponsored by Ohio Magazine, recognize outstanding marketing and promotional achievements in Ohio's travel industry.

The campaign, developed by our Marketing and Communications Project Manager Jessica Reinsmoen and the museum's public affairs team, helped bring approximately 17,000 people together for a free celebration of aviation and America's 250th anniversary.

Thank you to the Ohio Travel Association for recognizing our work and to everyone who helped bring Lights Over Dayton to life! A special thank-you to America 250-Ohio Communications Director Chris Hurtubise for presenting us with a commemorative certificate celebrating our RUBY Award win!

Ted Angel, Rich Cox, Joe Eckley, Lt. Gen. Robert McMurry Jr., Tim Sakulich, Leiann Stewart and Emily Thompson began their first terms in August and will serve through August 2029.

We’re excited for the experience and perspectives they’ll bring to the National Aviation Heritage Alliance as we work together to preserve, promote and share our region’s aviation heritage.

🍺 🍻 CARILLON BREWING CO. — the nation's only production brewery in a museum — has NEW HOURS: Wednesday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. While food service is currently unavailable at the brewery, anyone visiting Carillon Historical Park can enjoy the fantastic menu at Culp's Café — open Tuesday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. 🍽️

As the only U.S. brewery that replicates the historic brewing process, Carillon Brewing Co. will continue to offer visitors samples, flights, brewing demonstrations, historically brewed craft beers and more.

A truly one-of-a-kind place, the brewery gives visitors a taste of 1850s-era Dayton through the authentically prepared drink of the times!

Three, two, one, liftoff! 🚀 Rocket Day returns this Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force!

Build and launch a model rocket, then explore STEM experiences throughout the museum, including special activities inside the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

This FREE, family-friendly event is made possible through the support of the Air Force Museum Foundation.

More than 50 years later, Apollo is coming into sharper focus. 🌕

This Saturday, Sept. 26, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum will welcome Andy Saunders, best-selling author and leading expert in NASA digital image restoration, for a special presentation, Q&A and book signing celebrating “Armstrong Remastered.”

The exhibition features roughly a dozen Apollo photographs restored by Saunders, revealing remarkable detail in images captured during the historic missions.

Both the exhibition and Saunders’ special appearance are supported through a National Aviation Heritage Area grant.

The Huffman Dam Tour was a great example of organizations coming together to connect our region’s history, heritage and community. ✈️

We were glad to join the Miami Conservancy District - MCD, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park and Wright "B" Flyer Inc. in sharing Dayton’s aviation heritage as part of the event!

Looking for something to do this weekend? Don’t miss the 2026 Annual WACO Fly-In! ✈️

From Sept. 18 to 20, visitors can enjoy vintage aircraft, museum exhibits, food trucks and family activities at the WACO Education Center & Air Museum in Troy. Ticketed WACO biplane rides will also be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

The weekend includes a car show, pancake breakfast, WACO Airplane Parade, and Star Wars character photo-op on Saturday, plus a flour-drop contest, touch-a-truck, and a R/C airshow and candy drop on Sunday.
