You're invited to submit an application to the 2019 Reduce, Reuse, and Repair micro-grant program that started at the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board a few years ago. We're looking for people and groups, academics, environmental professionals and really anyone with some environmental background who are interested to conduct innovative research, maybe with students to solve problems preventing New York City from implementing programs, introducing legislation, and other solutions that would seriously reduce the amount of waste that is generated and/or understand the nature of reuse/repair capability of consumer goods that are left as waste on the curbside and/or prepare tools or other methods that would lead to increased reuse and repair on a large scale in New York City. These are just a few ideas that would be appropriate. As well we're looking for reuse / repair programs that can be expanded and replicated. Individuals and groups can apply for more than one grant, as long as the projects are able to be completed independent of one another. We encourage those who apply to be in touch with us about the nature of their proposed project, and are happy to answer questions about what is appropriate for the grant.
This link explains more about the grant program, shows photos/data from a few of the past successful grantees, and provides links to instructions and application form September 16 is the deadline.
