Please help us welcome HCC’s new VISTA AmeriCorps member Evangeline Elston! Her year of service will involve coordinating with staff and volunteers at our Dayton Farmers Market, the adjacent Solidarity Garden, and HCC’s Dayton Food Pantry to build organizational capacity. Evangeline grew up in Silver City, Nevada. She attended a small farm high school and went on to emphasize ecological agriculture in her bachelor's degree program in Environmental Science. She has worked as a chef, owned a small restaurant and has been a community development, volunteer and outreach professional as well as an event organizer and promoter. Evangeline is passionate about Nevada, and she's an avid amateur gardener. Welcome, Evangeline!

SMART Recovery meetings are now happening in Lyon County too! Information about meeting times and locations below. 💙 SMART Recovery meetings are free support groups designed to help people overcome addictive behaviors (substances like alcohol or drugs, as well as behaviors like gambling or overeating). SMART stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. SMART Recovery prepares to launch and bring a new path toward hope, growth and lasting recovery. Locations and dates for meetings in Lyon County are below:
