We continue to lose valued community members to homicide. Families continue to suffer great loss. The following individuals have died:

Bobseus Williams, 65
Jacob Bowlin, 41
Milton Bankston, 41
Eric Middlebrook, 24

We will gather for the Community Homicide Prayer Vigil this Saturday, May 9, 2025 at noon at the Seed of Life Memorial, located at 530 E. Fifth Street (next to the Trolley Stop) at the southeast end of the Oregon District in Dayton to pray for those who have died from homicide in the community over the past month and for the end to violence here and around the world. We have obtained permission from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 272 Bainbridge Street, to use their parking lot for parking. It is around one long block from the location of the vigil.

If you are unable to attend, we welcome your prayers from wherever you may be. Please share this notice with all who may be interested in attending so we can grow our community.

Nuns Against Gun Violence is a coalition of Catholic Sisters and their allies that affirms the value of human life through prayer, education, and advocacy for common sense, evidence-based, gun violence prevention.

As Catholics, our faith calls us to protect life. In response to the gun violence epidemic, you are invited to participate in a Lenten Fast to End Gun Violence. This fast is both a prayer to God and a public appeal for action.

"I will stand in solidarity with others at local demonstrations during Lent to help end gun violence." - Sister Peg Spindler
