What does Dear Dinah do to PREVENT trafficking?
We get asked this question a lot.
And yesterday, we got to do a little bit of exactly that 🤍
We spent time with some precious young girls at Victory Project talking about something every teenager needs to understand before a predator ever enters the picture:
Their value.
Their worth.
Their identity.
We went upstream.
We talked honestly about grooming: what it is, what it looks like, and how a predator slowly works to gain access to someone’s heart, mind, and eventually their body.
We talked through the stages of grooming and the subtle ways manipulation can disguise itself as friendship, attention, affection, protection, or even love.
But we didn’t stop at “Here’s what a predator does.”
Because prevention isn’t just teaching children to recognize dangerous people.
It’s teaching them to recognize truth.
When a young person knows who they are, understands their God-given worth, knows what healthy relationships look like, recognizes manipulation, and knows they can speak up and seek help without shame- there is less room for a counterfeit to convince them that they are the real thing.
And this matters right now.
Our children are growing up in a world where access to them is no longer limited to the people they encounter at school, church, sports, or in their neighborhoods.
A predator can enter a child’s bedroom through a phone.
They can build trust through a screen.
They can study what a child longs for, what they’re insecure about, what they need to hear- and then become exactly what that child thinks they need.
We don’t want to only respond after exploitation happens. We want to equip children before it happens.
We want them to know:
You don’t have to earn love.
You don’t have to trade your body for attention.
You don’t have to keep a secret that makes you afraid.
You don’t have to let someone else define you.
And you are never too young to learn your worth.
Yesterday wasn’t simply a training, it was planting truth where a lie might one day try to take root.
And we’d love to bring this conversation to the children in your life.

Let’s get upstream.
Let’s teach our children what grooming looks like before they encounter it.
Let’s teach them their value before someone else tries to exploit it.
And let’s remind them of the truth before the counterfeit ever gets the chance to tell them who they are.
This is prevention.
This is advocacy.
This is how we fight trafficking before it starts 🤍
