This weekend was a beautiful reminder of what happens when the Church becomes the hands and feet of Jesus 🙌🏻
Through the LoveDayton project, our CLC family showed up in extraordinary ways.
At Selah, nearly 150 volunteers came together to plow, plant, and bring to life our lavender field. What was once simply a vision has now become something tangible and breathtaking. The transformation is absolutely beautiful- but even more beautiful is what it represents. It is a visible reminder of God's faithfulness!
Years ago, the Lord spoke promises over Selah. He said He would bring this place to life as a refuge where women could encounter His love, healing, and restoration. This weekend, as we watched rows of lavender take root across the property, we couldn't help but see that same promise unfolding right before our eyes. God is faithful to complete what He begins.
At the same time, another mission was taking place on Miller Lane…
What began as a planned three-day outreach became an impromptu four-day mission as, even before church this morning, teams gathered with coffee, donuts, Bibles, and willing hearts to meet people exactly where they are. Over 30 volunteers stepped out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to bring the hope of Jesus to one of the most well-known hotspots for human trafficking in our city.
Throughout the weekend, we encountered more than 40 souls, prayed with them, listened to their stories, shared God's Word, and reminded them that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
And honestly, we believe this is just the beginning.
The Lord planted CLC in close proximity to Miller Lane for a reason. There is tremendous need there, and we sense Him calling us to continue showing up. What was born this weekend doesn't feel like a one-time project… it feels like the start of something that will continue for years to come 🙏🏻
Because this is what the Church is.
It's not a place we go. It's a people who follow Jesus into the broken places, carrying His hope, His truth, and His love. It's people willing to answer the Great Commission and step out in obedience, trusting God to do what only He can do.
We are also incredibly grateful for the many churches that have come alongside the mission of Dear Dinah. Your partnership, generosity, and willingness to serve make this work possible. We truly could not do what we do without you.
To every volunteer, every prayer warrior, every church partner, every person who gave their time, energy, and heart… thank you 🤍
Your commitment inspires us. To Him be all the glory. 🤍
