Mabel hit the jackpot when she was adopted from a shelter by the her new mom and dad, who are both young college students. We moved a few mountains to be able to help them out because we loved the fact that 1) they rescued this kitten, 2) they were going to school full time and yet both were working part time, and 3) they had money saved to be able to pay a portion of the bill. That all adds up to good kids and we were going to make it happen for them.
Mom said that they heard a crash in another room and found Mabel to have a badly broken leg. Surgery was almost $2400 and between mom and dad's savings, our grant and with the help of two other organizations, we all came up with the money!
They are the sweetest and most appreciative couple ever. They called the next day to report that Mabel was doing great and to extend their gratitude again and again! I may want to adopt them!!

PUPDATE! Pig aka Pretty Girl is a dog from the rez in northern MT. We helped this girl get a complete makeover which included a mass removal, dental and spay. Her mom updated us with these photos and to tell us that she is healing up nicely. Mom says that Pretty Girl is very camera shy and does not like having her picture taken. We were so grateful to Bakken Mobile Vet for doing all three of the procedures for around $600! That is when we know our dollars can truly make a difference!

Chilli is a fun loving, young pup who is living an adventurous life! Her dad reached out for help when Chilli was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma, a rare and malignant type of cancer that originates in cartilage-producing cells. It was in her left nostril so surgery to prevent metastasizing was necessary. Dr. Scott Flamme of Animal Clinic of Billings, once again worked his magic to give Chilli the opportunity to have many more years with her dad. Sending our best wishes to Chilli and her loving dad, that there will be many more outdoor adventures to come!

Here's some pets that are continuing to benefit from our grants for prescription medications. Both Ace, the cute and always paying attention little black lab and Nova, the pretty ice cream loving girl, are living with Addison's disease. We've been with the monthly injections and Ace's dad and Nova's mom are doing their parts to keep these two healthy.

Santos, the cutest little chubby chi ever is benefiting from another 3 months worth of our RX help. At almost 14 years old, he has some chronic pain so we've been helping with his monthly meds. He's looking great and we love to see that he is still going on walks with his sweet mom!

There are circumstances that don't always fit in our little box of bylaws but our board is always willing to discuss and try to do what's best for the pets. Such is the case with little Manchitas. Her and her bonded brother, Brownie had their world turned upside down and found themselves homeless when their owner suddenly passed away. A wonderful and caring person stepped in and offered to foster the two so they could stay together.
The reality of it was if they went to the shelter there was a real possibility that Manchitas would have been euthanized because she had a laundry list of health issues. She had severe bacterial and yeast infections which were causing inflammation throughout her body, swollen lymph nodes and bad teeth.
The awesome Dr. Kathy at M4 Ranch Home Veterinary Service took this project on we picked up 75% of the tab. Manchitas's foster mom and Dr. Kathy both say that this scruffy girl is doing so much better. Her skin is improving, she has gained a few pounds and seems to be so much more comfortable overall.
Thanks Foster Mom, for stepping up, both morally and financially, to get these dogs the love, stability and vet care they needed. We are glad that we could help!

We are always happy to answer the call when our friends at Freckles and Tomcat Rescue need us and when they had three heartworm positive dogs all being treated the same day, well... that adds up to one big fat bill. You may have seem pictures of the handsome Freddy Mercury (on the FaT page), who looks like a big old bundle of love. We picked up the tab for Freddy's treatments and send our best wishes that he and his two pals are on their way to getting rid of that deadly disease. Our appreciation to the team at Animal Care Center who do so much to help these Rez dogs!

CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!! Peanut is as adorable as they come! This 7 year old Chihuahua from MT was in serious need of dental and his mom needed our help to make it happen. We offered additional funds if she would neuter, but at the end of the day the dental ended up being more than anticipated and she declined the snip. We are glad that we could at least help Peanut to be pain free and feeling better!

Sometimes all of the pets, the emails and the incoming grant applications get in the way of other things that really matter.

About a month ago our friends at Buffalo Veterinary Clinic surprised us with a generous donation, made possible by Range, a telephone and internet provider in our area. Through their "Range Give Thanks" program, the fine folks at the Buffalo Vet Clinic were selected and awarded this honor.
This program is a celebration of the local businesses and nonprofit organizations that help the communities thrive. Each year, Range recognizes five outstanding businesses in Sheridan and Buffalo and honors their commitment to giving back by donating to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
We are so honored to have been chosen by the Buffalo Veterinary Clinic as the nonprofit to be the beneficiary of this wonderful gift and we thank both Range and BVC for the generous donation that acknowledges that we are making a difference every day!

We first met Bill Frank back in August when his mom reached out when he turned up with a fractured femur. Finally Bill got surgery about a week ago. It looks like this cute kitty is very opinionated about where he wants to hang out! 😅
