Great organization that has supported us for several years. Please check them out!

The Waffle Shop is back for the 95th time. That’s 95 years of kicking off the holidays by filling bellies at Christ Episcopal Church.

4 years ago we found a home at Christ Episcopal. After almost 3 years of flooded basements, garages, living rooms, and shared spaces we found a space in the most unlikely of places. When first discussing the opportunity, I immediately said no way. After a lifetime of people using religion as a tool to separate, I couldn't imagine a church who would understand what we were trying to do. Ten minutes after meeting Rev. Pete and the people of Christ Episcopal Church, Dayton, I knew basements and garages were no longer our place if we could figure out the funding. Over the last 4 years we've been unbelievably fortunate to find a way to cover our expenses by keeping our costs as low as possible and by the extreme generosity of our community. Not only does Christ Episcopal give us very low rent, they also donate clothes, space, and money every year. Waffle Shop is a great event that has supported us time and again. Special thanks to everyone at Christ Episcopal on our anniversary. I can't imagine a more affirming environment.
