I want to sincerely thank everyone who voted for me in the Dawson County District 3 Commissioner race. Your support, encouragement, and shared vision for the future of Dawson County truly mean a great deal to me.

Throughout this campaign, I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people who care deeply about our community, our families, and the future of Dawson County. I am grateful for every conversation, every prayer, every sign placed in a yard, every handshake, and every vote cast in support of our campaign.

Although this election may be over, my commitment to our community is not. I will continue to support Dawson County and advocate for the homeowners, landowners, business owners, and families who make this county such a special place to live.

I sincerely hope the friendships and relationships we built during this journey will continue to grow, and that together we can continue working toward future opportunities to serve our community.

Thank you again to everyone for your support, trust, and belief in me. It has truly been an honor.

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th, is Election Day. This is our last chance to make our voices heard for the future of Dawson County.

If we continue to vote for the same incumbents and the same people who have been in office for the last eight years, then we will continue to get the same results we have already seen over the last eight years.

I am running because I believe the people of Dawson County should come first — the landowners, homeowners, and business owners who have already invested in this community before any outside interests.

My commitment is simple: if a project or development does not benefit the people of Dawson County, then it is not something we should allow in Dawson County.

We need smart, controlled growth that protects our community, our property values, and our quality of life for future generations.

My name is Ricky Boyett, and I am running for Dawson County Commissioner District 3. I humbly ask for your vote tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th.

Please get out and vote. If we want change, we must show up and make it happen.

My name is Ricky Boyett and I running for Commissioner in District 3 for Dawson County. I would be humble to earn your vote. I’m running because I look around Dawson County and I see something worth saving. Right now, it feels like our local government is more interested in clearing land for the next big developer than they are in fixing the traffic we’re already sitting in. I’m not anti-growth, but I am pro-planning. We shouldn't be playing catch-up with our roads and schools while our rural way of life gets paved over.
When it comes to your money, I look at the county budget the same way you look at your checkbook. If the prices of eggs and gas are going up, the government shouldn't be looking for ways to take more of your property tax just because they can. We need to tighten the belt at the Government Center before we ask you to tighten yours.
Most importantly, I think you deserve a seat at the table. Too many people feel like decisions are made before the public meeting even starts. I’ll be the Commissioner who actually picks up the phone and shows up at the local diner to listen, because this county belongs to the families who live here, not the special interests. I’m asking for your vote because I want to keep Dawson County the place we all fell in love with—a place that’s growing smart, staying safe, and respecting the people who call it home.

Hi everyone, tomorrow is the last day of early voting. If you care about Dawson County the way I do, and you’re unhappy with the changes you’ve been seeing over the last seven years, please find the time to go vote. Election Day is Tuesday, but tomorrow is the final day for early voting at Old Town from 9 AM to 5 PM.

If we don’t go to the polls and vote, nothing changes and the direction remains the same.

Over the last three to four months, I’ve spoken with thousands of people across Dawson County, and I can honestly say I haven’t met many who feel good about the direction our county has been heading. If you feel that way too, you are not alone — you are among many others who share the same concerns.

Your voice matters, and your vote matters.

My name is Ricky Boyett, and I am running for Dawson County Commissioner, District 3. I would be honored to earn your vote.

05/14/2026

We have only two days of early voting left this week. Friday at 5:00 PM will be the cutoff for early voting. The final opportunity to vote will be Election Day on Tuesday the 19th.

I want to respectfully ask everyone in Dawson County to please do your best to get out and vote. Local elections impact your everyday life more than national elections. National politics affect all of us, but local government decisions directly affect our roads, zoning, schools, public safety, taxes, and the future direction of our community.

If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.

If you are satisfied with the status quo and the direction the county has been going over the last eight years, then stay home. But if you love your neighbors, care about your community, and want to make a difference, then it requires action. It requires getting out to vote.

Your vote matters, and your voice matters. Please make your plan to vote before Friday at 5:00 PM or on Election Day, Tuesday the 19th.

Hi, I’m Ricky Boyett. I am running for commissioner for district 3 in Dawson County. I would be humbled to win your support and your vote. Dawson County is at a turning point. Growth is coming whether we like it or not—but how we manage that growth will determine whether we preserve what makes this county special or lose it to overdevelopment and short-term decisions.

My commitment is simple: the people who already live here come first. That means landowners, homeowners, and small businesses should not feel like they are being pushed aside for outside interests or rapid expansion that doesn’t benefit them.

We need leadership that understands three realities:

First, growth must be controlled and intentional. Not every project is a good project. If a development increases traffic, strains infrastructure, or lowers the quality of life without a clear benefit to our residents, then it should not move forward. Growth should pay for itself—not be subsidized by the people already here.

Second, we must protect property values and property rights. Reckless zoning decisions can permanently change communities. Once land is developed improperly, you don’t get it back. Every vote I make will be filtered through one question: Does this benefit the current residents of Dawson County?

Third, we must operate with fiscal discipline. Taxpayers deserve to know their money is being used wisely. That means prioritizing essential services, avoiding unnecessary spending, and planning long-term so we are not forced into reactive tax increases.

I am not running to maintain the status quo. I am running to ensure that Dawson County grows the right way—on our terms, not someone else’s.

05/09/2026

Monday starts the last week of early voting, and then Election Day is Tuesday the 19th.

I understand the majority of Dawson County is deeply concerned about the direction of our county — and I share those same concerns. That is why I am humbly asking for your vote, if you have not already voted.

I can’t say this enough: if we stay home, nothing changes. The only way to make a difference is to show up and vote.

I’m asking you to invest in me so I can have the opportunity to fight for all of us, protect the future of Dawson County, and bring common sense leadership back to our community.

My name is Ricky Boyett, and I would truly appreciate your vote for District 3 Commissioner.

Hi everyone, early voting is continuing this week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturday voting hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and voting will continue all next week as well. Then the big Election Day is May 19.

Just a reminder — if we don’t turn out and vote, nothing changes. If you are as concerned about the future of Dawson County as I am, please make the time to go vote. Every vote matters.

05/03/2026

Next week begins the second week of early voting. If you have not voted yet, please make an effort to get out and vote this week. If we stay home, nothing changes.

Local elections affect our everyday lives — from growth and traffic to taxes, zoning, roads, and the future direction of Dawson County.

Over the past several months, I have spoken with thousands of people across Dawson County, and the concerns I hear are the same everywhere I go. People want leadership that listens, leadership that is present, and leadership that puts the people of Dawson County first.

My pledge to you is simple: I will be an engaged commissioner. A friendly face in the crowd. Your neighbor. And a problem solver.

Homeowners, landowners, residents, and local business owners should always come before outside interests. I care deeply about the people of this county and the future we leave for the next generation.

Please make your voice heard and go vote.

I would be truly humbled to receive your support.
