Community Notice – Emergency Services Preparedness During Bridge Construction
The Chiefs and members of both the Perryopolis Volunteer Fire Company and Dawson Volunteer Fire Company would like to reassure all residents of Lower Tyrone Township and Perry Township that comprehensive emergency response plans are in place throughout the duration of the Layton Bridge and Railroad Bridge construction project in Banning.
To ensure continued emergency coverage and rapid response capabilities for our communities, Dawson Volunteer Fire Company has a fully operational medium fire engine strategically positioned at the Lower Tyrone Township municipal shed near the intersection of Chaintown Road and Banning Road. This apparatus has been stationed at this location for several years and is regularly staffed and utilized by both Lower Tyrone Township firefighters and Dawson Borough firefighters for emergency incidents when needed.
This fire engine is fully equipped with:
AED and medical response equipment
Fire suppression equipment
Vehicle rescue tools and emergency rescue equipment
Our departments remain fully committed to protecting the residents of Lower Tyrone Township, Perry Township, and all surrounding communities during this construction period. We continue to work together to ensure emergency services remain available, prepared, and capable of responding quickly and effectively whenever assistance is needed.
The safety and well-being of our citizens remains our highest priority. We appreciate the community’s patience, cooperation, and continued support as these important infrastructure projects move forward.
Stay safe, and please remember — if you have an emergency, call 911 immediately.
