I know many people wonder why I do what I do with my horses. This. This is the reason why. This gave me cold chills and brought tears to my eyes. This lady loved the horses I brought in. I am told that it was the only activity that she enjoyed. The last time I had been there, she was in the hospital. This time I was told she was on hospice. I asked if we could still see her and her daughter allowed it. We walked to her bed. I asked if she would like to pet Dixie, but I was told she probably wasn’t able. Her hands were even covered with her blanket. Then we saw her fingers begin to move under her blanket. They moved the blanket back so her hand was free. As if Dixie knew that she didn’t have the strength to pet her, she gently placed her nose on the ladies hand. She left it there for several minutes until I told her it was time to go. This lady passed away a few days later. What you can’t see is the happiness that was on her face seeing Dixie again. God made my little horse with a heart for people and truly sensitivity to their needs. ❤️
