CP Spotlight - Dick & Rick Hoyt

Born with cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia due to oxygen deprivation at birth, Rick was unable to walk or speak and communicated using a special head-operated computer device. In 1977, 15-year-old Rick asked his father to participate in a 5-mile charity run to support a paralyzed lacrosse player. After finishing, Rick communicated that running made him feel as though he wasn't disabled, launching a decades-long athletic career.

Lucky Pumpkin 5K Race Day Recap!
