This morning was a GREAT day to be a Wolf! DPSF Board Members were able to attend the DES Rise and Shine and present elementary teachers with their grants totaling a whopping $10,834.58! Elementary grants included 🌟AWESOME🌟 topics like attending the Stephen Fite concert, publishing their own book, experience the Oklahoma Land Run, visiting the Chickasaw Cultural Center and multisensory classroom enhancers! The kids are going to learn a TON with this grant money! We also awarded grants to the Middle School, High School and Special Education Department...a total of $21,075.38 was given across the school campus today!!

Since the inception of the DPS Foundation in 1992, a total of $214,685.73 has been awarded via grant requests and $51,153.00 has been used to help fund the Fifth Grade Outdoor School each year! That's an incredible amount and it all DIRECTLY impacts our students!! Today was a great day to be a WOLF! Earlier in the school year, teacher grant applications were distributed, completed and returned. These grants are for additional classroom technology and needs, classroom book sets and amazing out of the classroom experiences for our students. Today was a culmination of that process! This year, the DPS Foundation was able to award a total of 18 teacher grants with a total dollar amount of $24,485.32! 🤩 Some of this year's awesome grant topics included a trip to the Oklahoma Science Museum for the fourth graders, supplemental sets of character ed books and resources, necessary items for the Art and Drama Department to put on a play, NEW risers for all grades to use in the auditorium and the opportunity for the second graders to experience the Land Run, complete with horse and carriage!

Board Chairman, Ryan Edmoundson, along with Board Members Casey Healey Killblane, Kelsey Lee, Sandy Denise Parsons, Mark Melton, Heath Foster, and Edd McNeil, was able to attend this month's DES Rise and Shine to celebrate the Elementary grant recipients! (Special thanks to Tammie Digby Webb for letting us be a part of this morning!) From there, DHS Principal, Trey Owens, let the Foundation take over the high school auditorium and 'WIN THE DAY' by awarding the DHS grant recipients in front of the whole building!
