We finally did it? The Otwetiri Project (TOP) just got their first water borehole drilled on the Otwetiri M/A School at Otwetiri village, near Koforidua in Ghana, West Africa. This project wouldn't be realized without the benevolent TOP Board members, their families and acquaintances, the Davis soccer community led by the Davis Legacy Soccer Club (DLSC), our sponsors (The Rotary Club of Davis and the Davis downtown small businesses), the UC Davis ROTARACT Club, our donors, friends of the organization, and the many humanitarian individuals like Larry Svetich, etc. We thank you all for your incredible support and voluntary services, pieces of advice and help.

The Otwetiri Project working with the Otwetiri School and the Otwetiri Community to construct a water borehole on the School compound to help students from walking almost 2.5 miles to a nearby small stream to fetch water for school and home and home needs.
Had a healthy meeting with the chieftaincy, village elders and youth leaders, and the entire community on locating a place on the school compound for the water borehole at the school, and possibly another one within the community.
During this meeting, one of the elders in the village asked if there could be the possibility of drawing water from the stream to the village instead of digging the wells within the community. This is an idea to reflect on for the future. Otherwise, we are presently doing our best to assist this community to have a water borehole on the school which The Otwetiri Project has worked on providing to this rural poor community with its students.
Of course, we still need financial support. So, simply go to The Otwetiri Project website to make a donation to support this cause.
Our sincere thanks to the Davis community, the Davis Legacy Soccer Club, and particularly the Rotary Club of Davis that has been the greatest sponsor for The The Otwetiri Project projects.

Please help us build four (4) water boreholes for the rural students of Otwetiri village school in the Akwapim North District. These poor rural school students use most of their class time to go to a little stream about 2.5 miles away to fetch water for school and home. The goal of The Otwetiri Project (TOP), www.otwetiri.org, is to help build these water boreholes with a borehole on the school compound evict students from being asked to walk all the way to the stream to get water school and home use.
We recently had a fundraising that should help us construct possibly two water boreholes for this poor community. So, we are calling on benefactors anywhere to assist us making this dream come true for the Otwetiri school and its community.
Please just visit www.otwetiri.org to view photos of students going and coming back from the stream in their school uniforms carrying all types of containers, whether little or big empty going to the stream or full of water on their heads coming back.
We definitely need your financial support and any form of assistance to assist these students and the Otwetiri community. You can also reach out to Tometi Gbedema, President-Director of TOP at [email protected] or call at (530) 848-5285 for more information about this project and others on the way.
Thanks to the Davis, California, community, especially the soccer community, we have been able to construct the school house you on our home page, and public latrine for the community. We also hold a village school soccer tournament for the village schools surrounding Otwetiri village, dubbed, "Davis California Challenge Cup (D3C) Soccer Tournament". We plan to talk with the Davis Legacy Soccer Club (DLSC) to see if they can sponsor us in organizing this D3C soccer for these rural kids that keeps the students in school to learn, healthy, strong and safe, and bring these communities together for local social, cultural, traditional and economic development.
