Reminder golf cart inspections will be next Saturday, May 16 from 9 to 10 AM. If you cannot make it contact the office by phone or email to schedule an appointment to have your equipment inspected to operate legally on the village streets.

Phase 1 of the watermain project will begin in May. See the image for areas affected. More details will be provided as the project progresses and if any service interruptions will occur and the steps residents will need to take. This includes street closures or access as the project continues.

It is that time of year. Golf cart/UTV inspections will take place on Saturday May 16th from 9-10am at the municipal building. Be sure to have your current driver's license, insurance card, signed release waiver and permit fee. See the link to our online code book for all necessary requirements to be in compliance and pass your inspection. Also remember unless it is registered it is illegal to operate on the road in Illinois.

With the updated forecast, a snow emergency has been declared in the village beginning at midnight 3/16/2026. So starting at midnight no parking on the even (north/west) side of the street. No parking in cul-de-sac’s.

From the Village of Rock City;
Good morning residents!
I am creating this post in hopes that it gets spread around not only our town but our community and the surrounding areas. We were notified by the Illinois Department of Transportation that on September 19, 2025 they will be putting a four-way stop at the intersection of Rock City Road and Highway 75. It does not clarify in the letter that we received if they will be putting rumble strips to warn drivers of the upcoming stop sign however they did say in the letter that there will be flashing beacons, alerting drivers of the upcoming stop signs. Please prepare for this change as this could potentially disrupt some traffic patterns with the school year starting as well. I imagine this will be an adjustment for anyone that regularly travels Highway 75. If we receive any more updates about the progress of this project, I will post again with the information. Thank you!
