We’re excited to share that the UC Davis Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is hiring!

We are looking to fill 1 Regional Outreach Coordinator position (Job ID: 89083) with a passionate individual who is committed to enhance and strengthen the college-going culture at high schools in Solano County, serving first-generation underrepresented students.

The Regional Outreach Coordinator will:

- Form strategic educational partnerships with UC Davis staff, school districts, community organizations, and businesses.
- Provide direct oversight of educational partnership efforts within the region.
- Develop and facilitate various events centered around college access.
- Work closely with school partners, campus partners, and community organizations to provide vital information about college admissions, campus life, and financial aid to students and their families.
- Monitor each participant's academic progress.
- Supervise, support, and develop a team of UC Davis student staff.
This is a career full time in person position; you will be working from the UC Davis office and at school sites. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

At our recent EAOP staff event, we celebrated the accomplishments of our graduating Student Outreach Assistants and said goodbye to those who will not be returning next year. Congratulations to our graduates! Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and the positive impact you have made on both your colleagues and the many students you have supported throughout the year.

We also had the opportunity to welcome our newest Student Outreach Assistants to the EAOP team. We are excited to have them join us and look forward to all they will accomplish in the year ahead!

Join us for our DA for a Day event!

Students will have the opportunity to tour the Woodland Deputy District Attorney’s workspace and the Woodland Courthouse, speak with the District Attorney, judge, victims’ advocates, behind-the-scenes tech professionals, and crime scene investigators about their careers, and participate in court activities!

This event is a great opportunity to explore the world of justice and hear firsthand about professionals’ experiences in the field.

We had the best time at Discover Neurotechnology Day! Students had the opportunity to explore the field of neuroscience through dissections. They also got hands-on experience with neurotechnology equipment.

Afterward, students participated in activities focused on muscle control, memory reconstruction, electroencephalogram (EEG) data analysis, and neurons.

Thank you to and for sharing your knowledge and helping make neuroscience and neuroscience engaging and informative for our EAOP students!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Discover Environmental Science Day!

We had a great time exploring the field of environmental science! Students toured the Bohart Museum of Entomology and the Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology, heard from Laura Todd about her journey as a conservation ecologist, and learned more about careers in environmental science. To end the day, students explored environmental science clubs and participated in interactive soil and augmented reality sandbox workshops.

Join us for Building a College Support System!

Our interactive workshops and engaging presentations are designed to prepare students for every part of the college experience. Students will learn how to build healthy, sustainable habits, stay on top of their academics without burning out, and balance their responsibilities while still making time for themselves.

We’ll also guide students through navigating campus resources, building a strong support system, and developing the skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

When: Saturday, May 23 | 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Where: UC Davis main campus
Open to all 9th - 12th grade students; priority will be given to 11th and 12th grade students

Last Saturday, we were granted the joy of helping EAOP participants step into the life of a UC Davis pre-law student. These students benefited from a mock lecture from Professor Irene O. Joe. A Q&A session with Joe Schneider from Law School Admissions and an inspiring presentation by Daniel Olmos, who shared what it’s like to work as a district attorney.

Our event was also a lot of fun! From touring the law school to testing their knowledge in a fun game of Jeopardy, students stayed engaged every step of the way. We are confident that our EAOP students left informed and excited about future possibilities in law. ⚖️

We hope to see even more participants at out next events.
