Aggie Scuba

Aggie Scuba We'll help you get certified! We'll get you out there! Diving will change your life! If your already certified then join the club!

We are an officially registered student organization with the University of California, Davis. Made up of students, staff, and alumni, all members of the UC Davis community are welcome in our club! If your looking to get certified as a scuba diver, we'll get you hooked up with local shops! We'd be happy to have you along on our club dives in locations such as Monterey, CA! If your a Freediver, you

r welcome here as well! We have several members with a background of freediving and we invite you to come along on our dives as well!

We apologize for not being able to make the announcement sooner and the miscommunication resulted from it. Aggie Scuba is no longer a registered club with UC Davis as of Fall 2014. All the staffs graduated in Spring 2014 and we were not able find enough interest in carrying the club forward. Therefore, the club has been in fact inactive since then.

In the future, for any diving related question, please feel free to post it in either or both of groups below. Other divers (including former staffs) would be more than happy to help answer your question when they can.

(The Aggie Scuba group is now public)

We have two former staffs still in the bay area now, so if you are interested in organizing a dive trip, post it in the groups and they may still be able to help. If anyone is interested in leading the club and making it active again, feel free to contact us. We will try our best to get you started.

Thank you all for your supports!

Hey everyone!
For those who couldn't make it to our first meeting of the quarter, here's a brief summary of what went on. This year Aggie Scuba's main focus is to create a platform for scuba divers and interested non-divers to meet and get to know each other. Our main platform is going to be the Aggie Scuba Facebook group. That will be the place for you to ask questions about scuba diving or organize a dive trip. You don't have to be a member or diver to join the group. Everyone is welcome!
If you want to be on the official roster of the club, meaning having your name as a member in the paperwork for the University, send us a request on Orgsync.com. If you have any trouble finding the site or sending the request, just let us know! Don’t forget to tell us about yourself (Name, Preferred name, Email address, Year, Major, and Highest certification level and issue organization.) We will need those information to put in the system.
We're here to help with any questions regarding scuba diving, the certification process, and other information! Unfortunately, we are short on staff this year, so the Aggie Scuba page will not be as active. But we will still try our best to answer any question as promptly as possible.

Following their migration, they're back from Mexico! We know they pose virtually no risk to divers, but do you ever consider what it would be like to come across a GW while diving?

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To ensure we can continue our relationship with our AWESOME sponsor, All About Scuba in Fairfield, we need to give them an official roster. Therefore, if you plan on attending ANY club dives this quarter, and/or want to be part of the club, you need to join the club's OrgSync page. Those not on the roster will be unable to attend club dives, and will not be given discounts at sponsor shops.

OrgSync is the easy to use, affordable solution that automates all aspects of organization management.

For all you divers out there, you need to watch this video. Downcurrents are not only extremely dangerous, but more common than you imagine! As a DM, my heart sinks right about the 4 minute mark when the situation becomes apparent to the diver. Do yourself a favor and watch the entire video, see how the situation develops, and then evaluate what you would do differently.

This video shows the trouble we had at Santa Rosa Wall on March 28, 2012 @ 10:10 a.m. The down current took 3 in our group to 150ft and 165ft.
